Game of thrones (apparently by the looks of this thread, it's not very popular with the WP crowd)

That's all I'm aware of, I don't watch regular television much.

Books are cool, read them at once in a month. Dont know about the series. ^^ I hardly can imagine, that they really manage to present all that content in a good way on television. But if you like reading and earnest fantasy (so not that elves on unicorn stuff), its really cool.

Anything by Joss Whedon.

I know alot of people love his work but I consider him to be overrated and over-hyped. His constant bragging about how he campaigned for creating strong female characters for television irates me because he talks like he was the first guy to invent the concept.

I would've said Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, but it doesn't seem to be doing very well beyond its première (in the UK, that is; I wouldn't be surprised if Channel 4, who air it here two days after ABC, shunt it sideways to its younger sister channel E4; same thing happened with Ugly Betty, New Girl and until Sky stole it, Glee. Channel 4 doesn't seem to have much luck with many American shows that aren't specifically aimed at adults, i.e. Homeland and the recent Masters of Sex).

Anyway, staying on subject...

Homeland (methinks it's slipping into Lost-style making-it-up-as-we-go-along territory)
Under the Dome
Big Bang Theory (terrible misrepresentation of Aespergers; if I had a dime for the amount of stupid people irl who say to me "Oh, you have that disease Sheldon has?")
I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here (tacky Survivor-esque gameshow with nonentity celebrities trying to 'survive' in Australia; this year's features the actor who played Carlton 20 years ago in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air)
The Only Way is Essex (UK adaptation of Jersey Shore, namely camera-friendly amoebas not really doing anything - extremely popular with young women for reasons I don't understand)
Strictly Come Dancing (UK forebear of Dancing with the Stars)
Great British Bake-off (a sort of less aggressive equivalent of Iron Chef, only with baking)
Dr Who (alas, current producer Steven Moffat is the UK Josh Whedon, ie. seen as a near-god of sci-fi/cult but personally, I don't like where he has taken the series; too self-referential for casual viewers like me.)
How I Met Your Mother (I don't understand the obsession with dating/sleeping with people, nor why it would be appropriate to tell your children about it; thankfully it's to be retired, though I've heard rumours of a spin-off imaginatively titled, "How I Met Your Father")
Borgen (Danish political drama)

and lastly Legend of Korra (in the animation appreciation circles, it's highly revered material but I personally think it's poorly written and rushed out; alas, it's lonely being an iconoclast...)

Everyone in my family watches those crime dramas like Law & Order and NCIS. I personally can't stand them because the way they portray crimes and how the characters solve them is completely unrealistic.

Game of Thrones.

I just can't get past the "Kill every important character!! !" part of it. I mean, killing off characters is all well and good, but in GoT, it's bad to the point where it's a meme now. "Who's your favorite GoT character? Doesn't matter, because they're probably going to die!" It just kills the dramatic impact if you kill off everyone major from the get-go.

They also didn't need to sex it up to the extent that they did. Seeing a nice pair of tits is, again, all well and good...But, like the killings, if you start to sex it up too much, we get a bit desensitized to it.

I read A Game of Thrones, and I really wasn't impressed. I've read far better fantasy novels, like the one in my signature. I just don't have a lot of interest in the series.

Almost everything. Tv is over-rated.

Things everyone seem to like/watch but I have little to no interest in:

- Doctor Who
- Sherlock
- Elementary
- Anything with vampires (TB, Vampire Diaries, etc.)
- Game of Thrones
- Breaking Bad
- Walking Dead
- Lost
- Terra Nova
- Modern Family
- How I met your mother
- Battlestar Galactica
- Nikita
- Arrow
- Prison Break

I just can't see why so many of these are so loved and popular. All I watch on tv is 2 Broke Girls, Two & a Half Men, Suburgatory, Regular Show and occasionally The Middle and old movies on Gem (the old tv show/movies channel). Also Simpsons and occasionally futurama and family guy, but family guy's only a 6/10 imo.

I don't watch anything at the moment apart from Wheeler Dealers, South Park, and X-Files. I can watch all of them for free on the internet, so I haven't watched any TV broadcasts for months.

I watch a handful of shows:

  • Modern Family
  • The Following
  • Fast N Loud
  • Deadliest Catch
  • Longmire
  • Hell on Wheels
  • Duck Dynasty
My wife watches all but Fast N Loud with me.

My wife watches (and I don't):
  • Rizzoli and Isles
  • Full Throttle Saloon
  • True Blood
  • Game of Thrones
  • White Collar
  • Walking Dead
  • Castle
  • Revenge
  • Revolution
  • Scandal
  • Bones

I have watched a few things on her list, but they don't hold my attention, though Bones is OK at times, but repetitive. I also really don't care for movies/shows that are of sci-fi, fantasia, vampires, werewolves, zombies, or medieval theme. Again....bo-ring.
