i loove it!

and i love L (like all the fangirls XD) and ryuk. L is actually one o my favorite characters ever. I miss him so much :<
i hated L's death though, it was so stupid and unnecessary. Rem didnt think at all... i would like it more if it was Light who killed him, it would make much more sense. Light's death was great though, seeing him so mentaly damaged and stuff, even though i didnt like him i felt sorry for him in the end. i cried actually XD
i couldn't stand how they replaced L with Melo and Near in the end though. He-man + L's Clone, great. <_< This characters sucked. Ok maybe i would like Melo more if he didnt look like little girl... (and Near if he wasnt L2 _o_) but they could use better characters.

the part after 26ep could be shorter in general, it was so boring... i liked only 2 last eps. and without L, my reasoning drops by 90% so i wasnt sure whats going on actually. XD

I tried to sit like L once... now I have a permanent knee injury!

Ha ha... no, it was there before I just made it worse...

I would say I was like L but I am not nearly as intelligent!

I kinda do sit like L, I never sit on a chair with my feet on the ground, I often have my knees up to my chest.

Anyway...

Viz has chosen the wrong VA for L. Seriously: it doesn't fit his character at all, and it sounds like nothing compared to the Japanese L VA. Anyone agree?

I agree with you there; I watched the fansubs first and then when I watched it on TV when it came to America, I was appauled! Nobody sounds right! Light sounds like Aladdin (much too little-boyish for his character), Sochiro sounds to me like Mel Gibson... I don't know what to call L's voice besides it just plain isn't L no matter how I try to imagine it.

Death Note is my #1 favorite anime. I watched it loyally as new episodes were barely coming out in Japan, then be ripped and subbed and on the internet 3-4 days later. Amazing series. You can find all subbed episodes on http://www.anime6.org , as well as almost every other anime out there. The legality of this site could be in question, and I bear no responsibility for anything. :P

The Japanese voices are true to the character, and due to this statement, I will not watch Death Note again dubbed. Though now that I'm reminded of DN again, I think it's time to go on a subbed binge again. :D

I actually think that the Japanese voices are a little too subtle. Light doesn't seem to portray enough megalomania, IMHO. L is close enough to the original, and each version of Ryuk has their own charm. I think Ryuk's Japanese voice actor actually is at his best in the Death Note live-action movies. One wonders if they got him to do a live performance like Andy Serkis as Gollum before substituting him with the CG Ryuk. He is trained as a Kabuki actor.

I am yet to see much of Misa Amane, but I think that any annoyance about her voice is more of the fault of the original characterisation of Misa in the manga, than anyone else's fault. In other words, Tsugumi Ohba wrote her that way, and you can blame him/her. Even so, it makes an interesting sense to have the second Kira this vivacious kind of girl, more positive and impulsive, compared to the more dark and brooding Light.

I disagree with your opinion of Light's voice in Japanese.

Light has numerous insane megalomaniacal scenes in which his voice actor does a great job. For the most part he's calm, collected, subtle. Like a true sociopath :D

I only have the first 4 episodes. And what about Ryuk?

All the anime I've watched was very repetitive. Maybe because it was aimed at children. This one sounds like a more adult anime.

Yeah, it is designed for teens and young adults, there are some rather suggestive scenes in it, death scenes, ect. Not really anything gruesome, mostly heart attacks, of course.
