I chose C-3PO (I had a bit of a crush on him a couple of years ago... yes, really), but I also love the robots on Mystery Science Theater 3000. :lol:

Of course, one of my favourite robots was ROB 344-66/IIIa from the German children's book "Robbi, Tobbi und das Fliewatüüt". It was turned into a popular puppet show in the seventies, which some fan has now posted on YouTube.

Nope. I just looked it up in wunschliste.de. Never been shown on German-language TV.

I voted for Lt Commander Data for the simple reason Star Trek is the only programme I watch that is on the list.

Last time I checked, there were a ton of the movies fully uploaded on youtube. They are also pretty easy to download too, either off bittorrent or the digital archive project (since the series was about making fun of B-science fiction movies, it's hard for them to secure the rights to release a lot of the episodes on DVD.)

Based on the films you recommended in the comedy movie thread (I commend you on your taste, btw :wink:

) I think you might get a kick out of MST3k.

I like the concept, but I find it difficult to concentrate on the movie and on the hecklers simultaneously. (At least with Statler and Waldorf, they cut away from the stage.) Perhaps it just takes some getting used to. I remember I used to like Beavis & Butt-Head, which was similar in concept.

When I was a kid, my sister and I loved MST3K. That was what we'd watch every saturday morning instead of cartoons. Some of them are alot funnier than others, so you should watch at least a handful all the way through before deciding if it's funny enough. It's too hard to pick between Crow and Tom Servo, they're both so good.

I haven't actually SEEN GITS, so I can't use any of them, though I hope to see it at my friend's house. My big sister has it, but wont let me watch. But out of the fictional robots I actually KNOW about, it would probably be Yuki Nagato, my 2nd favourite character from THMS. I do also like Bender and the Daleks. Not Cybermen though....ew....
