Jagten at our local theater. It's about a man in a Danish smalltown, who is wrongfully accused of child abuse, and is slowly but surely ostracized from the town's community. It has a pretty strong emotional arc, and I thought it was a great movie overall; just a minor complaint would be that a couple of plotlines are left unresolved, but that's a detail. Performances were strong throughout, with the shining star in this being Mads Mikkelsen as the main character.

The Artist

A black-and-white mostly silent film made in 2011. A silent movie star discovers a young dancer. When talking pictures arrive, their careers go in opposite directions.

American Psycho.

Just after World War II, the American daughter of a Nazi spy is asked to spy on some Nazi friends of her father's who have relocated to Brazil.

Cinderella Man

The story of boxer James Braddock and how he, after being supposedly washed-up upon breaking his hand, makes a big comeback and becomes a champion and an inspiration in the 1930s.

Twins.

Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones

i enjoyed it. liked how it tied into the previous movies. looking forward to the next one.

Little Rascals- the nineties version.
Not as good as I remembered it.

White Elephant

A 2012 Argentinian film following the struggles of two Catholic priests, Fathers Julian and Nicolas, and social worker Luciana in Buenos Aires. What should have been South America's largest hospital remains unfinished in the slums of Ciudad Olcata (due to tensions between residents, labourers on strike, warring drug cartels, gang warfare and politics within the Church hierarchy); the film documents Julian, Nicolas and Luciana's fight (often risking their lives in the process) to treat the forgotten poor in face of such adversity.

A hard-hitting uncompromising drama I personally enjoyed, though some may argue it's somewhat bleak.

American Hustle

Surprisingly hilarious movie that won 3 Golden Globes yesterday. Christian Bale stars as an overweight con man from New York City who takes an attractive fashion magazine employee {played by Amy Adams} under his wing and eventually falls for her.

A fictionalized account of a real-life financial scandal that happened in the 1970s, this movie is very likeable, despite its differences from reality.
