I best remember PJ Soles as getting murdered in Halloween, and of course Clint Howard is Ron Howard's weird looking brother before he started losing his hair.

I'm currently watching Transcendence. Actually, so far it's a pretty decent film about genius scientist Will Castor (Johny Depp) who is developing artificial intelligence, who is fatally wounded by fanatical Neo-Luddites who fear what he's creating. His wife (and partner) and their friend download his mind into the artificial intelligence program - - and it works better than anyone could have realized. Soon, he finds himself attaining godlike power. I'll find out how it ends.

Documentary on the late film critic Roger Ebert, "Life Itself" (difficult to watch in a few places, but worth my while).
I grew up watching At the Movies/Sneak Previews/Siskel & Ebert, and used to go to movies every wknd. with my father.

The Quiet Ones.

A recent Hammer horror film concerning an experiment by a British psychologist (Jared Harris) who wants to prove that the supernatural happenings involving a troubled young woman is actually the physical manifestations of her mental illness. But as his graduate students, and his camera man documenting the experiment learn, the doctor is himself haunted by his own demons, which plummets them and their subject to disaster. And worse, they learn the subject's supernatural possession is far more than just in her mind. A first rate horror film. Now that Hammer studios has been brought back to life, hopefully they'll start cranking 'em out like in the good old days!

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.

Visually stunning, filled with wonderfully nihilistic violence! The storyline might be a bit confusing because the movie is actually part prequel, part sequel of the original Sin City. The late Michael Clark Duncan has been replaced with another less magnificently huge actor, as has the late Brittney Murphy has been replaced by Lady Gaga. While the four different stories don't intersect nearly as well as in the original, and the dialogue is terribly overwritten as before, seeing Mickey Roarke under a ton of makeup as Marv kicking ass more than makes up for it.
