The first two episodes of a six part series shown on the 'Living' channel in around 2008. This awful rubbish illustrates the decline in standards on UK television, both traditional 'terrestrial' and satellite/cable, in the 21st Century. Jointly presented by a Liverpudlian ex-footballer and 'psychic' called Derek Acorah and a supposedly bona fide historian called Tessa Dunlop, these episodes have Acorah communicating with the spirits of Egyptian pharaohs Rameses III and Kufu (Cheops), the builder of the Great Pyramid, while Dunlop somehow keeps a straight face and validates this nonsense.

Acorah was really a bit of an obvious opportunistic con-artist type and this is exactly the sort of business you'd expect to find him in, but Dunlop had no such excuse and should have known better than to get involved in stuff like this.

Paranormal Egypt, Episode 3

This instalment attempts to explain the mysterious death of the Pharaoh Tutankhamun at the age of 19. Predictably when the film crew visits the pharaoh's tomb in Luxor, Derek Acorah is possessed by Tutankhamun's spirit, and reveals all. The funniest bit was watching the Egyptian professor who was present at the scene, and who was clearly a bit bemused as to what was going on.

Derek and Tessa investigate the mystery of the Sphinx. Derek goes into a trance and claims to have visited a secret temple beneath the statue and a tunnel linking it to one of the pyramids. Wonder if he'll ever be proved right on this one?
