I have just got the coolest idea EVER!

As is known to some of you guys and gals out there I'm not the worlds biggets fan of post 2005 Doctor Who (although I do still like the old stuff) and I've come up with an idea that will rock the whole universe!! !! !! !!

For quite some time I've pondered about taking the saga (namely the saga of Doctor Who that is) right back to the very beginning and rewiting and, in some cases, updating the old adventures!

I've entitled the comic book (as it will be a web comic) Doctor Who: Adventures in Space and Time! Not very original I know but it has a nice ring to it anyway....

Well if DC Comics can do this (with there superheroes) then why not with Doctor Who? I mean one coud always say that those adventures take place in a parrael universe to the ones seen in the BBC show (and likewise the Dalek films, TV Comic and all the other things that are deemed 'non conon' as they can all have their own universes that they can be set in.) This is why I've began this revamp that (in case I need to explain it for any younger WP users) will be written as though there NEVER was a show called Doctor Who and that It's ALL brand new.

(sorry if I seem to have patronased any of you out there but I just had to make sure that everyone understood what I meant by this...)

The first issue will be called 'The Odysesy Begins!' And it will be an updated retelling of the show's first story (save the stone age bit) set in the 21st centuery.

Naturally the next three issues will cover the first Dalek tale (entited for this revamp 'Enter The Daleks!') and so on....

Added to the retellings will be a few brand new adventures (plus some that are based on books e.g. 'The Witch Hunters' and the like)

Now before I go some of you may be asking about 'But how will you portay Susan and all the other more dated companians?' Rest assued they will be (tastfully) updated. (In Susan's case she will be a 'brainy tomboy' ala in the 1960's movies who will often clash with her grandfather)

I ope tht you will enjoy the results when they are ready.

Goodbye Till Next Time!

I've had a similar idea myself, though I've never gotten around to writing it. I have other writing projects to concentrate on at the moment.

And Big Finish have also done not dissimilar stories with Doctor Who: Unbound. The first story, Auld Mortality, is actually set in a universe where the Doctor never left Gallifrey. The second story, Sympathy for the Devil, involves a different Third Doctor being exiled to Earth some thirty years too late, and encountering the Brigadier in Hong Kong. Full Fathom Five...well, that involves a very dark take on the Doctor's character. He Jests At Scars basically supposits that the Valeyard managed to win against the Doctor, and what chaos he wrought upon the universe afterwards. The other two in the first series were less 'canonical'. Deadline being set in a universe where Doctor Who never came onto the screens, and ruined a writer's career when it was scrapped. And Exile was a darkly comedic one where the Doctor committed suicide to escape the Time Lords passing judgement on him...and regenerated into a woman!

They also had a sequel to Auld Mortality called A Storm of Angels, and one for Sympathy for the Devil, called Masters of War and featuring an interesting new origin for the Daleks.

I don't think anyone hasn't thought about a reboot!
If you're open for ideas, I was thinking:
'Doctor Who?' would be a great short title. very to the point of the first serial.
'The Curious Odyssey' would be a good title. Pun on 'Curious oddity' - the TARDIS *drum beats*
Setting it in an American high school (Blasphemy!)
'School reunion' would made a good first story once you got rid of the nostalgic bits. Involving a school, mass brainwashing and kids.
'Cracking the Puzzle' would be a great unified title.

Just a thought. You might be short on Ideas.

Sounds great either way. I look forward to reading it.
