Use this thread to discuss the show Dexter.

It is currently one of my favorite shows of all time and I cannot wait until Season 5 I cannot wait to find out how the next season will turn out after Season 4's beyond shocking conclusion.

Anyways here are my views on the season *I will try and keep Spoilers to a minimum*

Season 1- Amazing and perfect start to the series

Season 2- This was a mixed bag for people... You either loved it or you hated it. I personally loved it and thought it was even better than Season 1 but some people don't like it as much.

Season 3- I honestly was disappointed in the 3rd season... I mean it was good and all but compared to the first and second season it kind of lacked to me. I wasn't a big fan of the Miguel Prado as Dexters friend storyline as it had a lot of potential but Miguel just wasn't an interesting or likable enough character to really get involved with him. However the very end when Dexter *SPOILERS* Kills Miguel and tells him "I killed my brother... And I killed yours too" was extremely powerful and was probably the one truly great part of the season.

Season 4- This season was great! I really loved it! It wasn't as good as Season 2 for me but was definitely tied with 1. The only real issue I had with it was I felt the guy who played the Trinity Killer was a little too corny/silly and wasn't a good enough actor for the part and I am also mixed on the *SPOILERS* killing of Rita at the end as I mean sure it was shocking but I really don't know how they are going to follow that or if the show can recover.

My rankings of the series from best to not the best but still great.
Season 2
Season 1/4 (tie)
Season 3.

i love the show too.

i honestly didn't like the fourth season as much. I thought it got boring at parts, what parts, i cannot remember. The thanksgiving episode was amazing though. I remember that. and i think the last episode really saved it. The death of Rita was a good way to end that season thematically and such.

I am kinda curious how the series will end though. I mean. It's not like he can just go gently into the good night, maybe get a place in the bahamas and leave his dark passenger behind. There has to be some sort of justice. And it will be very difficult to do this . . . well.

True true. My belief is i that in the 5th season or the next one after that he will began training Cody as a killer as he does in the books (as Cody also has repressed anger and emotions from his father). It may result in Dexter maybe being found out or killed and the series ends with a closure ending that Cody will continue on with what he learned from him? Or maybe throw us a twist and have Cody kill him.

I like the idea of cody killing him. Somehow i just cant see it ending well with Dexter going to jail, but i also don't think he can get away, and i dont think he should commit suicide. It would be even cooler if his son was older and he could kill him. but that probably cant happen. Yeah the endings are very limited.

Why should Cody kill Dexter?

Well. I guess. least important. 1. The endings are limited.

2. It would be the ultimate realization of the theme of consequences. Dexter having to come face to face with Cody. Dexter though, having grown from of his stunted emotional core, though not by a lot, is unable to kill Cody and lets Cody kill him.

Dexter relates human beings to animals, and if i cannot be too cliche, this would be the Circle of Life. It is the only way i can think of to satisfy the majority of the audience.

or, as i'm thinking now. it would be kind of cool, if dexter, having grown from his stunted emotional core, but still being the only one cody can relate to, somehow teaches Cody how to be a better person, and Cody escapes the trap of being serial killer. That's cool too.

I don't know. I'm just talking out of my a$$ at this point.
