My Name is Khan - wonderful movie about an Aspergian man who falls in love. He's a Muslim from India who falls in love with a Hindu woman. After 9/11, he's accused of being a terrorist. It's about his severe impairment (I actually believe he has full blown autism, not just Asperger's, despite what the movie says; if you watch it, you'll see why) and how he deals with romance, social life, his fear of yellow, his religion, and the accusations against him.
DEFINITELY worth the watch!
I disagree. I feel the movie mis-represents people with AS and pointed out on another thread how he did not qualify for having AS as he qualified for HFA instead.
The producers of the movie are actually aware of this, as indicated by the small print notice at the beginning of the film, however rather than make the proper correction in simply calling him autistic, they decided to continue to say he had AS, as they likely felt that was a stronger selling point to differentiate the film from the concept of Rainman.
