Has anyone watched The Haunted? Some of the episodes are scary. But for a large dog to be afraid to go into a certain room. This series makes me wonder if ghosts do exist. I have a 20 pound male West Highland White Terrier. Last night he was looking up towards the ceiling fan and just barking so much. Something was making me angry. Mom and I were in the family room and looked up and didn't see a thing. It was a cold night too. We only use ceiling fan when it's hot out. We didn't see bugs flying or spiders, so we have no clue what he was so upset at the ceiling fan. Then it made me wonder. Dogs do see ghosts. Maybe it was my grandpa. He passed away 2 years ago around this time.

I don't know why they've got programmes about ghosts on animal planet, then again a lot of animal planet programmes are quite s**t. I saw a programme about supernatural stuff on discovery science once, that does not belong on a science channel.

I don't know though. Animals don't lie. Why would a dog refuse to go into a certain room? Then the family gets some paranormal group to investigate and they figure out that in that room something bad happened. It's strange. People can lie. All of the other shows like Ghost Adventures, Ghost Hunters, Paranormal State make me suspicious. For one how can a ghost respond to the living so quickly?Orbs can be from the camera, dust flying around or maybe a bug flying. Who knows. It is interesting when the recorder picks up a ghost's voice. If the paranormal group are all men, but the EVP picks up a woman's voice, HOW do you explain that? I don't know. Ghosts exist?

I agree, most shows on Animal Planet have nothing to do with animals anymore. A friend of mine who runs a meerkat rescue center in California http://www.fellowearthlings.org/ has a friend who is an Animal Planet producer and when she shared a story I wrote with her and heard that I was Autistic, she wanted to make a documentary about the bond Autistic people have with animals which would feature me. They would fly me out to the meerkat lady's place and then to Africa to see wild meerkats and meet with this meerkat biologist. Animal Planet refused to do it because they were working on Meerkat Manor and did not want two meerkat shows at the same time. I went into a BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD depression and a part of my soul died. It took me a while to figure out who to be mad at, my friend for showing my story, the documentary lady for thinking it up, Animal Planet for refusing or all of them. I've finnaly decided that my friend and the animal planet lady aren't to blame they were just trying to do something nice for me. Animal Planet is just a selfish company and I hate them. My so called "friend" won't respond to any attempts to contact her anymore and I think it's because I had an online meltdown and scared her away. I don't care anymore really. Animal Planet kisses her butt all the time and even gives out free trips to her santuary yet they wouldn't fund me going there. I think I have every right to feel betrayed and I think my so called "friend" is to blame now. The zoologist they were going to send me out to see says he hasn't heard from her either and that ever since Animal Planet has sponsored her, she's gotten her head stuck in her ass and isn't going to pull it out anytime soon. Maybe Pam wasn't to blame in the beginning but she is now. If she ever responds to one of my letters and still wants to be friends I will forgive her and forget the whole thing ever happened. What hurts me the most is that another friend turned their back on me and this time it was an adult.

I don't like animal planet because of all those "I survived an animal attack" type shows when some over dramatic voice over man yells over wobbly reconstructions of hunters being beat up by bears. Or programmes about "pampered" pets that are dressed is dumb outfits and fed gourmet meals. I'm not interested in that crap, I'd rather learn something about wildlife and/or conservation. The only good programmes on there are monkey life and escape to chimp eden and stuff like that. Not just because they feature primates though lol, because I hate gorilla school and orangutan island (the voice over man in the latter is really patronising to the viewers.)
In my opinion animal planet is national geographic or eden for stupid/easily amused people.

I did watch Fatal Attractions and thought it wasn't good. There was one episode of a man that keeps all kinds of snakes in his garage. He was also making bombs. Very strange man. He's in jail. Kinda think Fatal Attractions should be on another station maybe Discovery ID? I don't want "I Shouldn't Be Alive." The only shows I do watch on Animal Planet are the dog shows.

If you actually watch it before forming such a firm opinion... it's because there are animals in the episodes that react to the 'spirits'. Animals themselves are a big part of the stories the series tells. Also.. why would you think the paranormal would have no scientific basis? I don't know how much you know about ghost hunting, but spirits are said to react and interact with scientific instruments such as electronic voice recorders, EMF detectors, batteries have been known to drain before an encounter and many more. Science plays a big, big part in learning about such things. You should look into it a bit.. who knows you might just find it fascinating yourself.

luvsterriers, yes I've watch it. My family has always had an interest in the paranormal and we've had a lot of our own experiences too. Thing I don't like about this show (as with several others like it) is that it tends to lean to a negative side, claiming most encounters are evil, etc. Not always the case. Wish they'd be more open minded with the facts and try less to brainwash the viewers into thinking all ghosts are out to harm you. Still watch it and enjoy though.

Did you see the one where the spirit warned them of the furnace fire, then a couple weeks later it actually happened. That was great.

I don't watch The Haunted all the time. I don't think I saw that episode. I did used to watch A Haunting on Discovery Channel? I thought that the narrator's voice was spooky though. :?

^ Ah, yes. I've seen that one too. Pretty good show.

I like Ghost Adventures (Travel channel Fridays US) and Psychic Kids (A&E Sunday nights US) best. They try to find results without using a 'scary' story angle or try to make a mockery out of it. Two really good shows.

Oh yea Psychic Kids is good too, they don't show it all the time though, right? I saw some episodes over the weekend. It wasn't that scary. Now Paranormal State is another thing. I don't find it real. Actually I kinda find most ghost series to be fake to make it appear that such and such place is haunted. How can a ghost communicate to a living person right on the spot? I remember Most Haunted (UK ghost series) and there was a medium named Derek who supposedly has ghosts control his body. I think it's all an act.

I watch this, Lost Tapes (sometimes; really cool show about mythical creatures in real life), Puppy Bowl (every year!), and the occasional Animal Cops.

They show Psychic Kids pretty much every Sunday unless there is a holiday or other big even that is going to take from their ratings. They are almost at the end of the season now though. Last nights episode was really good, the two kids were really spot on with what they came up with in details (without prior knowledge) it was great.

Paranormal State, eh it's okay. They blow it up a little for drama imo, I have a few other issues that bug me about them too.
Spirits can communicate on the spot under certain circumstances:
(#1 if the spirit even wants to) How many people want to be told what to do, know what I mean? I don't like to bossed about. "Talk to me now! We demand you show yourself!" "Move something" Do this, do that. Blaa. Bite me. hehe
(#2 if they have the energy to do so) It's assumed they need a source of energy. Humans, batteries (man made or natural from the earth such as quarts/salt/limestone are all types of natural batteries/storage devices.) etc. all can be tapped into by spirits (or so it's claimed)
I've had things I can't explain communicate with me directly and very obviously, as recently as last night. I'll PM you the story if you want to hear it.

Most Haunted: Yeah, Derek.... I don't think very many people believe he really is a legitimate psychic. The show is useless even without him now. They ask for a sign, they get one (such as a simple knock) and then they all run out screaming. My response... why ghost hunt with that attitude?? What do you expect to capture as evidence when you run from everything? Ridiculous. I do watch it when I need a laugh though... *grin*
