Yes, The Lion King and probably Bambi too but haven't watched it since age 5. I love The Lion King music by Hans Zimmer. Makes it what it is!

The remake of The Parent Trap. It's sad because Lindsay Lohan was still cute.

Toy Story 3 has a melancholy ending , Andy parting with his beloved toys, Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest. I had to fight back the tears.

Agreed. It was especially hard on those of us who had grown up on the Toy Story movies.

Another Disney movie I found to be sad was Bambi.

Bambi definately.

My Mum took me to see it when I was 6, but had to take me out of the movie because I cried v loudly and was so distraught when bambi's mother got shot.

Bambi, Lion King, the Fox and the Hound, Finding Nemo, Dumbo, Pete's Dragon.... Lots of Disney films have sad elements don't they. I cried my eyes out at Bambi and the Lion King when I first saw them. In fact I have Bambi on dvd, but I can't bear to watch it because it makes me so sad. Odd how they have designed films for children that have such difficult themes like the death of a parent. Maybe it helps the viewer form an emotional attachment to the main character in the film?

Live action: Eight Below.

Animated: Fox and the Hound, and probably Toy Story 3.
