Right, I just finished watching the last episode in the series of the new Skins (UK) generation, and I have to say that although it was solid and enjoyable, it was the weakest series of the show that I have seen. The first episode was rather promising, and a good introduction to the cast, but in all honesty I can't say it picked up much higher from there.

With the very first series of Skins I could even give ratings of 10/10, but here I can't give any of them higher than a 7. I guess this programme has out-stayed it's welcome, with it starting to do so by the 3rd series. The constant trials of neurotypical teenage life were portrayed enough in the first two series. My favourite characters are Franky, Rich and Grace. Albeit the acting of Grace is quirky, and somewhat wooden. I don't know what the deal is with that. Do some people talk like that in real life?

Episode 1 (Franky): 7/10
Episode 2 (Rich): 7/10
Episode 3 (Mini): 7/10
Episode 4 (Liv): 5/10
Episode 5 (Nick): 6/10
Episode 6 (Alo): 7/10
Episode 7 (Grace): 6/10
Episode 8 (Everyone): 7/10

In summary I would say watch this if you are a hardcore fan of Skins, looking for something to pass the time, or a newcomer to the show. Though I would recommend just sticking to series 1 and 2.

Score: 6.5/10

Hate this review? Of course you do. If you're up for an arguement, all right, but I'm going to bed in a bit. :D
