The offender: Sucker Punch.

The offence: The Plot.

Did I just see some film that pretty much f'd my mind on the first minute to the last? What exactly was the purpose of this film? The ending made no sense...people are in mental institutes all the time and act pretty much what they do and furthermore...I just didn't get the AWOL girl who made it out...

Maybe it's a clear view on insanity? I don't know but I'd like some explaination (I have had an interesting one a few minutes ago with my bro and his mate about it).

Any films that are similar to this? (I know the Uninvited was like this but anymore?)

I take it that the movie was no good.

Sometimes the movie isn't going to make sense. There will be people who love it and you still scratch your head and wonder how they could since it makes no sense. The critics will pan it and some people will love it and you'll scratch your head an it will make no sense, still...

I had that experience with Practical Magic. Watched it through with in-laws and at the end I was scratching my head over loose ends left untied while they gushed about how great it was. As for Sucker Punch, I can't even understand how the name fits. It just looks like a bunch of Lolicon stuff to me.

The fact that I was expecting to be disappointed by it and was just shows how much hope we have as of yet for the film industry.
That is why I prefer imagination.

Ah, see, you were expecting a plot that made even the slightest sense from Zack Snyder. I wasn't. I was expecting excuses for playing with cool costumes, visuals and period setting villains disguised as something that might sort of almost resemble a plot if viewed at an angle through thick glass and fog. Heck, when I saw the trailer I immediately thought "oh wow, someone's got a major hard-on for cool looking period visuals and making the costume department really really happy - this thing isn't gonna have any discernible plot is it?". Some directors are just like that, it's more important that it look neat than even for scenes to make any sense or have narrative flow. A lot of them are really fun to watch once you accept that they're pretty much all surface visuals and the story in those types of movies is vestigial at best.
