I haven't seen much of the anime Cowboy Bebop but I will never forget the episode called Peirrot le Fou (think that's spelled right). For those not familiar, it is about a psychopathic killer called Mad Peirrot. He is kind of like a clownish aristocrat or like the Penguin from Batman. Later on in the episode it is revealed that he was the victim of genetic and psycholigical experiments to make him into the perfect killing machine. The experiments destroyed his 40-something year old mind and caused him to revert to something of a five year old. In the end, Spike (the main character) throws a knife in his leg and he basically bawls like a little kid crying for his mommy (he is impervious to bullets but lets his guard down when reminded of cats, which he fears since there was a cat present during his torture). He finally gets killed by being crushed by a giant parade float (they're in a kid's theme park-the killer loves all sorts of child-like things).
I am absolutely OBSESSED with this episode and that one part where he cries for his mommy. It is one of the most disturbing and haunting scenes I have ever seen but I rewound it over and over again. I don't know what it is. I mean, the guy killed so many people yet you feel so sorry for him and just want to help him. Also, since I often feel immature I feel like crying for my mother when things get tough. I don't want to seem like a baby but somethimes frustration is just that powerful. Also, I love seeing adults regressing and being broken down into crying children. Curious as to other's takes on this episode and topic.
