So are there any recent movies you have seen
that you thought were going to be good, but turned out to be terrible?

Sucker Punch
After I saw this, I came to the conclusion that
this was a good action movie, but with no plot.

Seeing actresses dress all hot and kicking ass
was just a way to make the audience see a misogynistic
depiction of women. BOOOOOO!! !! !! !!

Just Go With It

Lame-ass comedy. Needed a better script.

Transformers 2

Boy, did this one suck. Enough said.

Scott Pilgrim vs The World
I know this movie was praised very well, but for some reason I didn't really like it. I get that it's set in some kind of video game world but it doesn't seem to be acknowledge that it is, I dunno maybe I'm missing something, perhaps if I read the comic books I would understand it more.

Green Lantern
I wouldn't say this was a horrible movie, but I was so looking forward to this movie for a long time, despite the fact that I've never read the comic books, and then the reviews started pouring out and I was already dissapointed before I saw it. I saw and I thought meh.

Hostel. A lot of people were offended by this movie's violence. I was offended by how stunningly awful it was. It's supposed to be one of the best recent horror films, but I'm going to kick Eli Roth in the sack if I ever meet him in person.

"Santa Claus Conquers the Martians"

How could it fail? Christmas + Santa + Science Fiction + Mars = A sure-fire winner, right?

Wrong ... oh, so very, very wrong ...

Ghostbusters - It wasn't funny. I thought it was boring.

Back to The Future - Same as Ghostbusters.

Heathers - I expected this to be a dark comedy like it was billed as, but I actually found it to be very disturbing, so much that it seemed to be more of a drama/horror than a comedy like it was meant to be.

Phantom of the Opera (the one with Gerard Butler) - I like musicals so I thought this one would be good. While I liked some parts, I felt that it dragged too much during most of the movie.

The Libertine - I like period pieces and I like Johnny Depp, so I thought I would really like this. But this turned out to be the most boring movie I have ever seen.

Cars 2 - I knew it wasn't going to be as good as Cars but I didn't think it was gonna be annoying as well.

The Muppets - Did not like. Sorry folks, I went into this movie with an open mind too.

Mean Girls - Got a few laughs in the first like 10 mins of the movie. The rest was dull and predictable.

Twilight - So goddam boring, I gave up on the movie after 20 mins of nothing happening. Watch "Vampires Suck" instead if you want to see the first two Twilight films with a bit more substance to them.

Harry Potter movies 5-7 - Goddam Yates. Sorry but I HATE HIS DIRECTING. Everything's gotta be so slowmo and dull. There's no life, color, and action to these movies and the characters themselves become mindless zombies with less life and no interesting characteristics to them. The comedy is cheapened and forced. These movies are just bad. The only one of them that came out close to decent was DHpt2 and that was only because the majority of the film was spent on the final battle but even then it was a bit duller than I expected (I was expecting more like LOTR Battle of Gondor here).

The Piano: I ended up turning it off after 10 minutes I thought it was boring.

The Adentures of Priscilla queen of the desert: It was awful.

Mamma Mia: Loved the musical so I thought the movie would be good too but I just couldn't take to the characters all they did was screech in each others faces like a flock of seagulls.

Ringu, which is the original Japanese version of The Ring. I really thought I would like it because I liked the Japanese version of Ju-On The Grudge so much better than the American remake. But when I watched this film I found it to be pretty boring compared to the American remake, the "cursed video" wasn't as disturbing as the one in the remake and there wasn't a lot of scary stuff happening in the story, even at the end of the film which was the scariest part of the remake I was very dissappointed at the ghost girl's appearance when she kills the leading male character.

I really wanted to like this movie, but I ended up giving it away and just keeping The Ring.

BLASPHEMY!

Love Actually: It's basically a film about a group of reactionary stereotypes confirming the myth that everyone in England is a lovable, middle-class eccentric, it was also the first film i have walked out of. Simply put, it makes me want to vomit.

Bridesmaids: Tries to outdo the vastly superior Hangover (First one, number 2 lacked that charm), but fails incredibly. No amount of bad language or flatulence gags could make me laugh.

Aliens vs Predator: Requiem: An absolute insult to two of sci-fi's most revered and legendary beasties. I found it lacklustre, banal, overlong and not remotely scary.

Lethal Weapon 4 - More specifically, the final third. Worst "power of family" moralizing EVER. Plus, Leo's monologue about his dead pet frog is forever burned in my memory.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.
That is how you rape someone's childhood.
And Transformers.
Hell, any movie made out of a FRICKIN' TOY.

As much as I enjoy Labyrinth I think Jennifer Connolly's horrid acting as well as the sloppy exposition of the film hurt it. I was like they were in a rush to get to the David Bowie stuff (who could blame them?) LOL

Brick. Probably one of the worst movies I've seen. And I actually like Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Where The Wild Things Are. I don't suffer from depression but forcing myself to sit through this was damn near close enough. Did anyone even read the screen play first?
