Isn't 5 years too soon for a "Spiderman" reboot? I said the same thing about the 2008 "Hulk" movie, too.

I guess comic-book movies are becoming like comic books themselves: there are way too many continuities, and a franchise gets rebooted with trivial differences whenever the industry decides that it is getting "stale".

I don't think so. Who cares man? If you like it, watch it. If you didn't like the previous iteration, maybe this one will blow it out of the water.

Problem with the Hulk movies wasn't just a reboot to soon for the audience.... it was that we had like 4 or 5 reboots within the span of 10 years. Ridiculous.

As I recall, the Punisher reboot sucked ass. Let's see how the new Spidey stands up to Raimi's vision.

Yeah, Punisher was a real punishment to view.
But he shouldn´t be counted out just yet. Punisher was always better as a villain than a hero/anti-hero. So why not put him up against Spidey like in the old comics. Or against Daredevil if they decide to make a reboot that doesn´t suck bollocks.

I don't really mind as long as the movie is good. The old Spiderman movies weren't a part of the current generation of comic-book movies and have, for me at least, a slightly goofy feel to them in comparison. Different interpretations can be fun. I'm enjoying the X-Men reboot.

As long as the market isn't saturated with every kind of substandard superhero movie (like it is now) then it's okay. If they could do away with all this Avengers stuff (especially Thor) we could just stick to the ones with good scripts/directors.
