hellsing
a long time ago when i first got on the net, i was on a amv website and i didn't know what hellsing even was. this one guy had this little clip of integra synced to austin powers dr. evil.

O_o -_- honestly the first time i ever ran across hellsing, i had no bloody clue integra was a girl, i thought she was a guy. with animes it's usually the other way around.
doesn't help that she looks like a guy in the clip and is synced to dr. evil.
i found out about a year or 2 later when i was downloading sims that integra was a female, i think i only knew because the sim maker had made alucard as well he is kinda hard to forget, talking about mutated seabass in the clip.
probably as big of a shock as samus being a female back in the day of the older nintendo games.
didn't help i knew nothing of the series prior.
out of pure curiousity does she ever act like a female at all. i've seen a bit of hellsing here and there, she always come of as more like a guy. doesn't make her uncool, i like show she is calm no matter what almost except for that part where she's screaming bloody murder on the intercom.
anyway i lost interest because the only video i could find was in japanese, made it hard to follow the story.

Hellsing is good, I am partial for the English Dub myself, I could give some links to a site called Dub Happy if you want to watch:
Hellsing (tv series)
Hellsing Ultimate (OVA series)
But you might also have success on youtube by searching (Hellsing ep 1) and (Hellsing Ultimate ep 1), and maybe specify (dub) to get english, and you should find links in the videos to the next video.
As for Integra she looked girlish when she was girlish when she was young, but she has to be a strong leader, they actually even call her Sir, something about being sired instead of become a dame.

Hellsing used to be a special interest of mine. You should definitely look into it more, it's really awesome. Integra doesn't really act feminine during any part of Hellsing (except in flashbacks to her youth). This is because she has to be a strong leader during a time of war. Same could be said of any of the other Hellsing females, really (except for them you would replace "leader" with "fighter").
yeah i know some of it. i know her dad left her the business and she is tough because all the other ones are men, and judging by the anime seems to be in an earlier year.
at that point in time women were classified as weaker.
but i did find a few episodes i like the ova art style better by far.
i think it was more of the initial shock i got all those years ago, when i thought she was a guy i thought 'he' was cute then later on i was "that's not a guy!" sort of freak out thing. but the fact she is female makes her even more cool, we need more tough female roles on tv and the media. women are still stereotyped as weak and stupid to often.
but i had no idea they finally started translating it, i found the first 3 episodes of the ova in japanese they have subtitles but still hard to get in to. because reading the subtitles distracts you from the show. so it's either know what they are saying, or watch the animation.
they are in a war? i thought they just hunted vampires or something. well that explains alot no wonder. thanks for the links, i'll have to start from episode 1 again in 7 or so years i forgot alot. i love the guns alucard has, i think i remember they have explosive bullets or something, sounds like a gun my cousin shot a deer with.

Yeah, in the OVAs and manga, the Hellsing Organization gets into a war with the Iscariot and Millennium organizations. Iscariot is like Hellsing, but they are Catholic instead of Protestant so they are rivals with Hellsing. Millennium is a group of Nazis who create artificial vampires and they enjoy war for war's sake.

On war, there is like a five minute speach on what a character thinks of war.
Also recently found a good abridged series done by the TFS (they do a good Dragonball Z abridged series), worth some laughs after watching the series. LINK

oh so the guy with the knives is part of a group this is a rival, god some violent rivals, i have alot of the fight scenes in some building they were in, and he seemed pretty intent on killing her off.
he makes an awesome knife fight scene though. the little i do remember are now scenes in my music videos.
war for the sake of war, they are a messed up group i guess. the linked video wouldn't play for some odd reason, i'll go browse youtube, youtube has pretty much everything.
to Bradleigh: i actually watched that as a kid when we moved up here, not really fond of it anymore. 18 was really the only character i took to, probably because she is a machine, and i like robots. what did happen to her i never did find out stopped watching the show after she dropped krillen off on that tower i think, to long ago all i remember is they were on the tower place chatting or something.
i have to say i wish i could fly like them, alot of the story in my head pulls from dragonball z actually. mostly fight scenes. and my main oc was once a copy of 18 many revisions later she became her own character.

Abridged series are just for fun, you don't have to really even be too familiar to have fun. The original point is to watch a series rather quickly, but they are more of parodies.
Hellsing abridged HERE
The DragonballZ one I talked about. HERE . Chances are you will have a little laugh at a show of your childhood.

...Also, the design of Integra is based off of one of Kohta Hirano's FF7 doujinshi. A male character. Now, guess which character! The clue is in the hair.
Lol.
Umm, Hellsing Ultimate is an ova of the anime series, but its actually pretty strict in following the manga series in terms of character design, background, and the episode plots. The oringal anime series, after a certain point, doesn't follow the manga. And has less awesome animation and stuffs.

sephiroth... lol now that is weird but cool. i had wondered i about that guess it wasn't just an idea of mine. she does look a bit like him.
what is an ova anyway, like anime talk for remix or remaster? i never could understand that, is it an acronym?
i looked up episodes last night on my ipod, easier said then done i found episode 1 part 3 i ran across a trailer, it's weird hearing them talk in english. i got so used to the japanese voices after a while. it was the same with my other things like kh 2 final mix found an english patch, and i'm like holy heck i can actually read the words.
to Bradleigh
oh parodies i love those, half of my first few years on youtube was dedicated to looking up parodies. found a bunch of weird ones, funny all the same.

It stands for Original Video Animation (Wikipedia Link Here), The general idea is an anime videos that released direct to home viewing instead of on tv/cinima like the general series or movie. What it means here was that Ultimate has had its episode releases made at different period of times, which have been released straight to DVD, and generally has better animation budget unlike having to quickly make 12/13 episodes.

dang and i thought gran turismo 5 and portal 2 took forever. i found this about 10 or more years ago at that point i was just praying for a translation. dang that's like xenosaga 3rd game and they dropped the story like a rock. i hate it when companies do that reboot went out the same way.
