for those Aussies on here who watched Hey Dad who here is shocked by the claims of sex abuse on the set? I beleive her SM because 1 in 3 women are sexually abused before they turn 18. However I think it will be hard for the police to prove and also wonder why she came out now 15 years after the show ended. Also as she said it isn't like the guy thought to be RH raped her will be interesting to see the outcome.

as for people coming out much later about sexual abuse topic

Lots of folks need some time to digest and recover from it, they need to work though it and become mature about it. Think about the children that were abused by priests, and boys by their scout masters. They didn't come out about it at the time, but much later, when they could feel safer about it.

I agree we shall see what happens it is a big deal here in Aus right now. As a sex abuse victim myself i know how hard it is and how hurtful it is not to be believed or for it to be made less than what it was some family members did that to me although they do believe me now.

I have heard about this.

did you see the ad for ACA(I saw it today)?
It said they were going to identify the perpetrator and detail the new evidence police found and apparently more people have come forward.

Yeah it is alleged to be robert hughes the guy who played the dad the one I previously deliberately only used initials for because it hadn't been officially named. He denies the claims but people do don't they.

You know, at first, I got really annoyed when people began blaming the male members of the cast automatically, without thinking about crew members in power (writers, directors, producers and executive producers). But now that Robert Hughes has been outed as the culprit, well...can't say anything that hasn't been said, except what a bloody disappointment that someone who entertained millions of Aussies is possibly a pedophile.

It angered and saddened me, not only to hear of these allegations and knowing what it would mean, but also to hear that Gary Reilly, who created Kingswood Country and Bullpitt as well (two of my favourite Australian comedies), silenced those who protested, according to the actor interviewed on ACA tonight. Didn't catch his name.

(Quick look up of ACA video)

Ben Oxenbould.

Oh well. This sick, sordid saga is going to be played out in public for quite some time. Whatever the outcome, doubtless it is going to be messy. And a formerly bright area of many Aussie's pasts and childhoods is going to go dark, forever.

I don't really care, if she was abused then that's a bad thing obviously, but it's not my problem.

I was hoping it wouldn't be Robert hughes but that photo of him with that smirk on his face and
Sarah didn't look very happy made me think maybe it was true.
He was in a lot of Aussie shows as well as playing the reporter in ABBA the movie so its disappointing to hear this.
