35Up,(Documentery following the lives of 7 year olds)AS?

I just watched the movie 35UP,I believe it was originally a series on PBS?About the lives of several 7 year olds and then they reenterview them every 7 years(14,21,28,35,42?,<----havent seen this.)
There is one character on there that is possible aspie and I was wondering if anyone had seen it,if you thought he was and did they make a 42UP movie?I am very interested in this guy(kind of had a "crush "on him,except he lives across the Ocean and I am in love with my SO...LOL)Has anyone seen these movies?

I've seen the previous installments of director Michael Apted's documentary series, though not since getting my dx. I only recall the one guy who didn't fit in anywhere, drifting-I felt bad for his discomfort, yet also related to his mental different-ness. Just saw magazine ad for 42 UP, coming soon-though probably only in major cities w/quirky theaters. I look forward to seeing it somehow, sooner or later.

Didn't get to this in time to edit: Actually, ad (in both Wired and New Yorker magazines) said "49 UP" is opening presently. I watched "42 UP" on PBS a few years ago.

I absolutely LOVE this series and have had the pleasure in seeing each and every one of them, even the newest installment 49UP. I have loved this series since I first saw 7UP as a teenager, and I followed these peoples lives with interest.

I was delighted with the outcome of 49UP, the majority of the participants appear to be more settled and happy compared with the other installments. I have always loved Neil - I have cried for him often - but do not believe he is one of us, although I am not a professional in this area. I think something very wrong happened with him in his teens, he went from a beautiful, imaginative, happy 7 year old to a withdrawn 14 year old and just went downhill from there really. Thankfully I am not as worried for him any more because he is working and has a home to live in.

Bruce is another one I am thrilled about seeing married and with children - I didn't think it would happen for him!! Nick is another favourite of mine (didn't think much of his ex wife either hehehe).

I would recommend this series to everyone - it is a fascinating study on humanity.

Thanks for the update!!!I am glad all are doing well,especially Neil,as I have a particular fondness for him.I may have to try and buy the video on line,hate movie theaters.

where can we get these movies? heh heh. i'd be interested in seeing some of the characters. particularly the one you're interested in Krex.

krex and blackdove, you can get the series from amazon.com - in fact you can now get the whole lot. eBay is another great place (my home away from home!!). I bought 49up from there, but had to send it back because it was a very inferior copy (though i did watch it first hehehe). They have introduced a package called The Up Series, which is like a box set of the whole lot (except for 49up I think). It was something like $60 USD. It might be easier to find in the UK and the USA than it was to find in Australia. I have the old ones taped from my video recorder from many years ago but have no idea what condition they are in now (or even where they are if the truth is known!). Jus

krex, a few strategic hints here and there might secure you the Up Series for Christmas!! !
