Actors who've had the best lines in films

Some films I watch the actors seem to get great lines. I am sure its not just me.

I think Ian McKellen had some great lines in the X Men films.

"Oh yes, a bolt of lightning in a huge copper conductor. And I thought you people lived in a school."

Julia Roberts had some fantastic lines in Erin Brokovich.

"I happen to think I look nice, and as long as I have one arse and not two, I'll wear what I like."

But my favourite line has to be Yaphet Kotto in Alien: "I aint drawing no straws, I'm for killing that goddamn thing right now."


What do you think? What are the best lines actors have had?

Ok, I'll tell you, its Johnny Depp (I mean, he does seem to be in about 100 films now, so he had pretty good odds of getting some good lines, if you were asking me.)

He does have an impressive filmography, and he does indeed have great lines in many of them:

"I'm not finished.", "We're not sheep!", and "I thought this was shish kabob." - Edward Scissorhands

"You may place your beautiful lips upon my posterior and kiss it repeatedly!" - Barnabas Collins (Dark Shadows, 2012)

"This is not my beautiful house. This is not my beautiful wife... Anymore.", "I killed a mirror. And my shower door.", and "Chico.... Don't be discoooouraged.... Fine! Be discouraged, you blind bastard!" - Mort Rainey (Secret Window) (actually, most of Mort's lines are pretty memorable, but those are my favorites.)

"You killed my husband!"
"Yeah, I did, and then I F*** his wife." - Spencer Armacost (The Astronaut's Wife)

"My friends, you bow to no one." - Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), LOTR: The Return of the King

I always feel like crying at this scene. No matter how many times I've watched the movie, it always has the same effect.

I always raise a huge smile when Richard E. Grant utters that immortal and superior line when he and Paul McGann brazenly lord it all over the Penrith Tearooms. It just makes me chuckle.

"No, I am your father." - Darth Vader (James Earl Jones), The Empire Strikes Back.

"Who did the President.... Don't you get it? Even the shooters don't know!" David Ferrie (Joe Pesci), JFK.

"Say four words... I want to die." John Ryder (Rutger Hauer), The Hitcher.

"I'm here to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and I'm all out of bubble gum." John Nada (Roddy Piper), The Live!
