I don't like watching television because it's VERY boring. I tend to watch documentaries and sci-fi. What does everyone else watch? Any recommendations?

I like sc-fi, documentaries, and satire like 30 Rock. I also like Scrubs, That 70's Show and Big Bang Theory. I find them on places like Netflix, and watch the entire series before moving on to another one.

I don't like dramas, like Grey's Anatomy. All the emotional angst is beyond me.

I don't watch a lot of TV and am probably going to cancel my cable soon to save money. However, there are some shows I like. Of course, one of them is The Big Bang Theory but other than that I watch very little fiction. The only other fictional shows I watch from time to time would be House (but now it's ended so I won't be watching it anymore) and the BBC/PBS production: Sherlock. As for other stuff, I like Top Gear UK (I'm a big James May fan!), Mythbusters, How It's Made, Survivorman, and lots and lots of documentaries. If they had a cable package that had just BBC America, Discovery, Science and all the variants of The History Channel along with The Weather Channel I think I would be set. Everything else is drivel.

Check out Fringe! For a not very TV but sci-fi person I would say you will love it. It's probably on Hulu or the like.

I sometimes half watch what is on TV, unless it is a crime show, medical drama, or a reality TV show, which I can't stand. But I do usually actively watch documentaries, and there are some cartoons I like.

I have been watching some retro comedies lately, but I am getting bored of them again, to the above dislike of medical shows, Scrubs and Becker are generally excluded from that. I have seen every episode of Supernatural, as I have an interest in the supernatural, nut I don't usually have the same interest in other vampire and werewolf TV shows.

I also watch a lot of anime, which is pretty much my main interest.

I don't really watch much t.v and with shows I prefer either finding the season on netflix or getting it on DVD because I hate commercials but some shows I like are Metalocalypse, 1000 Ways to Die, House, Weeds, That 70's Show, Futurama and Battlestar Galactica(liked it but I've seen the whole serious on dvd so I doubt I'd watch it all again). I like documentaries about topics I find interesting and any shows kind of like the ones I've mentioned I usually like to.

I admit I watch way too much TV. But I like to think I'm selective about what I watch, and what I don't watch. Shows I do patronize are:

CNN
MSNBC
Madmen
Breaking Bad
The Walking Dead
The Big Bang Theory
WWE wrestling
The Venture Bros.
Family Guy
Fringe

There are certainly other shows I watch, but these are among the ones I simply can not do without.

I really don't watch television that often. I'll watch the movie channels, but only through my DVR. I really spend the bulk of my time watching the movies on the DVR or the ones I get through Netflix.

I don't watch too much television. I like watching documentaries and I actually like watching some reality tv just for the entertainment of it.

Some shows I like:
-2 Broke Girls
-Baggage
-Survivor
-America's Next Top Model
-Dance Moms
-American Horror Story
-Little House on the Prairie
-I like the dance music channel BPM.

Shows I like and reasons why:

- Big Bang Theory because it's upbeat and current.

- Reality shows like The Bachelor, Bachelorette, Bachelor Pad, Apprentice, Love in the Wild, etc. because I'm fascinated. The scenarios are completely contrived while the "actors" seem to be completely unware of it.

- Game of Thrones - the most brilliant and enthralling TV I've ever seen. I have to watch each episode several times to understand everything that's going on, which is kind of annoying, but it's worth it.

- Reruns of King of Queens, Everybody Loves Raymond, Seinfeld, not sure why I like these reruns I've seen a gazillion times. I don't exactly watch them. I put them on in the background while I do something else.

- Bloomberg's Betty Liu because I'm interested in the stock market and her show brings me right into the market open.

- I Survived (Biography channel) because the stories are real and intense.

I watch animated sitcoms, indie/foreign films, Comedy Central, comedy movies, and disaster movies (specifically the classic ones from the 70s).

Me too. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is one of my special interests, though I took a hiatus from it for a couple of months due to some nasty comments that were made about it. I really want to get back into again though - I'm going to rewatch the whole series (thus far) including some Season 2 eps that I missed when they first aired.

Speaking of shows aimed at little girls, I really love Monster High - it's another special interest of mine.

I watch the history shows on pay t.v. History Channel, Military Channel.

I watch the scientific documentaries starting with PBS Nova, then the Science Channel documentary line up.

I do not watch sit-coms but I do watch some of the continue episode broadcasts such as Rome, The Game of Thrones, Heartland, Sleeper Cell, Dexter and such like.

What I do is record those programs I like which have commercial breaks, so I can quickly skip over them when I watch.

I used to watch the History Channel religiously, but since they started playing crap like Ancient Aliens, or reality TV shows like Swamp People, or Ice Road Truckers which have nothing to do with history, I started tuning out.
