I found this video on YouTube. I used to love the show "Arthur" as a kid, so I find it interesting that they made an episode about Asperger's. :)

That's how I describe it as well but I add at the end " and half the time the people on the new planet dont try to understand"

I watched that in January or so; I really liked that episode. I wish they had it back when I watched Arthur all the time (8-13 years ago), but AS obviously didn't have the media coverage it does now. Since I've watched this episode, I've watched a few other ones just for the sake of nostalgia. :P I find it funny that I still remember many of the plots. And it's weird how different the voices and such sound; I perceived them as different when I was younger. Also, the drawings... Ah, it's just different.

Oh cool! I love Arthur! I mean, I loved it when I was a kid.

Okay, I confess I still watch it if it's on TV.

Why haven't I seen that episode before?!?!

Saw the episode on Youtube (I'm still a child, technically!). The particular AS character they used doesn't really describe me completely. Like him, I find some irrational things scary, but I don't have blatant coping mechanisms like rocking, I usually do weird things with my hands & I especially touch my hair & face when I'm nervous or sad. I might also tap my feet on the floor or something like that (maybe it's more blatant than I think...). I also have the art thing in common, but that's about it. I could probably ramble on for ages about Napoleon but it won't be facts & figures per se, it'd be more about my opinion about his life.

That little clip you put up there was brilliant, though. When I was doing lots of AS research a few days ago, I really thought it described me & it felt so great. Not sure if I actually have AS or not, though.

To me having Asperger's is like being on another planet where everyone else crowds around you, the strange otherworldly visitor, and breathes in your face and ears and wants to touch and feel you all over. And you get uncomfortable and anxious and you just want them all to leave you alone, but you don't want to be completely alone, either. And the gravitational pull is stronger than it is on your home planet, and it makes you feel heavier and slower at doing physical things, except when you're swimming. In fact it's like you were almost meant to live in water. Also I think the talking too loudly thing might be reversed because for years everyone said I talked too loudly, especially when I'm excited or upset.

For me, it's like being the oddball despite not trying to be, and everyone notices. That's the best way I can describe it.

I really like that.

Though it doesn't look different, I smell things and hear things sometimes when others don't.

I can't believe I never saw that episode despite watching that show a ton as a child.

Carl does remind me of me in some ways. Like how when George gave him the book and he got all excited. You should see me when I get a gift like that. Same when his mom was telling him to say thank you to George. My mom has to push me to say thank you or to greet someone, too.

I like how Brain explained AS to George, too. I think he explained it very well. Especially the part where he finds the costume so humorous. A lot of the things I find hilarious, other people don't, and then sometimes it's just SO funny, that I just start laughing and can't stop, people just stare at me weird.
