I watched this dvd, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, starring Ewan McGreggor and Emily Blunt. It mentions at least twice in the film that Ewan's character has Aspergers, he has very rigid routines and special interests. Emily Blunt gets frustrated with him for not having a sense of humor, and things like that.

It was a cute movie, by far not the worst thing available from Redbox. I didn't know specifically that it would mention AS in the film, but on the preview it looked interesting and I enjoy movies that have "nerdy" characters which is how the main character could be described due to his extensive knowledge in his area of special interest.

If Im not mistaken it referred to autism and one of the times it was in a joking way(I watched it subtitled with a primary school teacher and she got mad when they subtitled autism as asperger and started ranting about how they arent the same thing.... Hard to forget the scene she made)

I just finished watching this movie. It got terrible reviews, but I really enjoyed it. I had no idea Ewan McGregor's character was meant to have asperger's until they came out and said it (like the original poster, I thought he was just cute and nerdy). I asked my mom what she thought of the character, and she said he seemed kinda of "off" from the very start.
