I think it's a great series, recently watched an interesting documentary film on Animal Planet about the fauna and flora of Australia.
I also googled about Australia on internet to find something more, and i discovered wonderful tv show titled " Lockie Leonard", it's not targeted to my age group but i like it 
it's really touching show about love,
This is not the first Australian series I have seen, once Poland, and more TVP Polish Public Television collaborated with Australia in the production of TV shows. The result of this cooperation was among other "Spellbinder" series
I have to admit that the Australian series, are much better than the American, which are sometimes too primitive, but I not want to offend Americans, whom i respect, if someone feel offended i sorry.
If I had the money to start and not I suffered for Asperger's syndrome, I would happily emigrated to Australia

I know that Lockie Leonard was based on a series of children's books. If I remember correctly, by Tim Winton. He's a famous Australian author. Tim Winton has also written a few very popular and award winning novels for adults, which you might like.
I also remember a TV show from when I was a child called 'Around the Twist'. Since I'm your age, the show is probably a bit dated. But it was about a family who lived in an old lighthouse, these magical and weird things happen to them. So they have to try and hide it from the richer kids who bully them. That show was also based on a series of children's books by Paul Jennings.
There's also another show called Mortified which is about a young teenage girl who is constantly embarrassed by her quirky family.
We have some awesome flora and fauna in Australia. I love it because it's unique and most of the creatures and plants here, can't be found anywhere else. I should get around to posting some photos of the area where I live...
I have to admit that you do Australians extremely cool movie, both for children and adults, it are nice and they are not as primitive as some American TV series,
First Australian tv show which i watched was "Skippy", i was about 7 or 8 years old, my friends tell my that is good show so i watched it and liked. I also like "Crocodile" Dundee
I remember "Mission top secret" and "Spellbinder" very good show about parallel universe, my country co produced it,
Americans also did once, cool series such as Star Trek, my favorite
Unfortunately, the golden days are over and now it gets only commercial kitsch, kitsch unfortunately plague slowly spreading to other countries.
If I had a lot of money and had no problems with Asperger's Syndrome, I would happily emigrated to Australia or any country in the Pacific, I like to watch movies about the oceans, I would happily dived in the Mariana Trench
