I am in graduate school working on a paper about Doctor Who and the possible interpretations for the Autistic Community. I was inspired by my five-year-old son who was diagnosed with ASD nearly three years ago. Around the same time, my husband introduced me to Nu-Who and both my son and I were immediately entranced. Since then, I have often been moved by the parallels I see in my attempts to connect with my son and the relationship between the Doctor and his companions. I would love any and all input on this topic. I am focusing on Who since 2005 since that is what I am more familiar with and it has also been produced in the Age of Autism with, I feel, a nod toward appreciating Neurodiversity and "Neuroexceptionalism." Please share your thoughts.
