Opinions? Like what you've seen? It began airing October 13th.

I'm curious about all the new characters, and if it's going to be more survival-oriented or people-oriented this season. The first episode kicked off with quite a few options.

I love the Walking dead, both the tv-series and the comics are great (Although I've only read a few of them). But honestly i expected a better opening season episode than we got. Obviously it seemed like a lot had happened during the little time period between we're things were at when the last season ended. Some people we're all of a sudden a couple, The new group and the "old" seemed to know each other very well by now etc. I think all these hasty changes without knowing much about how they came to happen, ended up making me a little confused. By no means, I did like the season premiere episode, though as mentioned we should have gotten a little more information somehow instead of being rushed into everything the way we did.

I agree that there could have been a little more elaboration on how the prison became the way it is now, especially since they appear to be doing some things that I'd consider pretty interesting in a post-apocalyptic world such as raising animals. Too much about people talking and getting to know each other could easily have been boring, though... unless it's Daryl and Carol.

I saw the first episode and liked it pretty well... I wasn't really bothered by being dropped into the prison months after all the Woodbury refugees joined. The TV series makes time jumps like that every season. If anything important happened, I'm sure we'll find out in good time...

One of the few faults of the comic is that it sometimes drags between major plot lines because it's so serialized.

Anyway, I thought the episode had a good balance of action, suspense, and characterization.

I'll be interested to see what they do with Tyreese. He was one of my favorite characters from the comics... So far, he seems lost and a bit wussy. I hope that changes.

I also liked the cliffhanger ending. I'm looking forward to seeing how things play out this week.

I'm still catching up on season 3 which was just added to Netflix streaming very recently. It's a really great show, and I've also played through two different Walking Dead video games on my PS3 as well.

^^^ I love TellTale's game. I cried like a big, ugly baby at the end. I can't wait for the sequel.

Just saw ep 2 on Amazon. I think it was the most persistantly sad. Among all the tragedy, for some reason the scene with Rick & pigs got to me most.

I think it's interesting so far, but one thing I've been sort of hoping for from the start is that the pace of the show would pick up and move a little faster. So far this season it still feels quite slow. I really like the content of the show, but would just like the pacing to be a bit faster in general. I think the first season actually had the best pacing, but that's probably because it was only 6 episodes and they were trying to fit a lot into it. I was really disappointed in season 2 being so much slower paced than season 1, it felt almost painfully slow in some parts. Season 3 was a little bit better, but still felt too slow. Season 4 feels about like season 3 so far, but I'm still hoping it picks up the pace as it goes along.
Also not having a clear human villain right now kind of takes the excitement level down for me. But since Scott Wilson is still in the main credits, I know at least the Governor will probably be making his comeback soon. So I'm okay with overlooking this issue for now.

At this point, they have completely diverged from the comic, so it's hard to predict how things might go...

However, Rick finally strapped his gun back on--I'm betting things will get more exciting soon.

Mishonne is a puzzle to me. (I haven't read the comics). I still don't know who those two walkers were that she had when she first appeared. Also her response to the baby in this last episode left me wondering what caused it.

I know what you mean by pacing. I think it would really bother me if the slow parts were boring or bad acting. As it is, I do feel story itself moves a bit too slow, but attributed some of that to it being based on a comic which might not mesh well with film pacing. The good acting and character development of the slower sections saves it from being a big problem with me. Its kind of like a PBS quality zombie series.

The last scene was a bit of a shocker. It wasn't intentional but I wouldn't be surprized if Tyrese went mad.

In the comics, Michonne's two zombie escorts were her brother and her boyfriend... In the comic she was also a lawyer and she learned to Fence in college.

From the way she reacted to Judith (on TV) I'm guessing she had children, but that's just a guess.

My wife and I have been hooked on The Walking Dead from the very start, and so far this season has lived up to our expectations. Daryl is still cool. 8)

I can get past the overall plot of the show moving slowly, if it's an issue that they want to make sure it doesn't catch up to the comic too fast or something like that. But I think they could add in more minor content to fill it in more. There's just too many scenes that feel like they drag on too long without anything really happening to justify their length, too many episodes feel like they just have too much wasted time space. I just want shorter scenes filled with more content... not necessarily big-picture storyline content, but at least some more talking and character development type stuff.

^^^ There's a balance always at play, and changing up the pace has its value. I agree some episodes have some noticable slow parts. I have to buy each episode via Amazon (no cable) and a few times I thought it was more soap opera-like and not enough thrills or interesting parts.

But overall I like the series because it is sometimes the slow or slow to fast transistion that can be very powerful and thought provoking. They don't rely on a formula or repetitive plots. I think the biggest factor is the skill of the writer, director and cast ultimately. Much has to come together to give consistantly good results. They don't always hit the high mark.
