What should the next Batman be?

Option 1 - Joseph Gordon Levitt returns as the new Batman or even a Nightwing type of character to face off against The Riddler. The Riddler could leave traps and riddles which must be solved in a detective type manner which would leave it open for some good script writing.

Option 2 - A comical reboot by Zack Snyder done in the style of Watchmen or 300, it could aim to be more like the Batman out of the game Arkham City and focus on aiming for a comical edge but with a sense of realism.

Option 3 - A Batman beyond type script, Batman and Gotham in the future, this could be done in a science fiction style like Blade Runner and could have some great visuals.

Option 4 - Justice League film.

I think you mean Zack Snyder.

He could do an Arkham City style Batman. That's what I'd like to see.

I'd prefer a JLA Batman, but only if they used it like Marvel used their other solo hero films as buildup to the Avengers. I still believe that DC and Warner Bros are making a HUGE mistake by hotshotting a JLA movie without proper buildup time.

^^^ Yeah, I'd like to see a JLA movie along the lines of New Frontier. It would not have to be a period piece (but it would be nice), but it would take a few separate movies to lead in properly. At least a Superman, Batman, and one other... Wonder Woman, or Green Lantern.

They'd need a great villain too... I'm thinking STAS Braniac with Lex Lothor as unwitting helper. Or maybe Darksied controlling Superman also ala STAS,,,,

"Very well, Kryptonian, If you won't be my knight, you will be my pawn!"

I did read an article a while back that there could be a Batman Beyond movie in the works.

It looks like the future of Batman involves a crossover with Superman with Ben Affleck as Batman.

That would be the bat's knees. I personally think the only way to go so soon after the Dark night Trilogy is to bring something that's never been taken to the big screen before. Look at Spider-Man. They just re-boot him from his origin story up while the Tobey Maguire films are still fresh in everyone's memories. If they turn around and make a Batman film where it's not Bruce Wayne but Terry McGinnis behind the cowl, people will be like 'What?!' It's something that so few people in the mainstream audience have seen before. Of course, plenty of people who grew up watching Batman Beyond will recall Terry, so for them it will be a happy reunion.

And I just want to forget that they retconned Terry into being the son of Bruce. WTH?
