My wimpy 22" LED screen decided to die yesterday. One part of me was annoyed that I no longer had a television. I was also annoyed because this tiny screen was serving double duty as a PC monitor, as well. So, no 360 gaming and no PC use for 24 hours. What a pain!

Another part of me is overjoyed. I have a few hundred bucks that I am taking to the store today to get an LED screen that is closer to 35". I would be content with 720p resolution. I just do not want another Haier piece of crap (that last TV was a misguided gift, and it was easily the worst TV of any kind that I ever came across). A tube TV from Goodwill would have worked out a lot better than that flimsy garbage.

So, NEW MUTHAPHUQUING TV TIME! W00T!

I did end up getting a full HD 1080p TV. A 32" Samsung. A vast improvement over my 22" Haier HDTV/DVD player combo (where the attached DVD player completely stopped working less than a month after the purchase, and the TV itself decided to die around one year later).

Lesson learned - Haier sucks. Never buy anything from Haier. My mother intended well when she picked that up for me last year after my first HDTV died (that TV lasted me almost a decade), so I can't really say I blame her for that.
