Sherlock and Autism?

I recently started watching Sherlock because I'm a fan of the Mentalist and read it was inspired by Sherlock.

It doesn't disappoint.

I know the creators say Sherlock is not autistic. I believe they HAVE to say that because then people will think ALL autistics are like that. However, I believe Sherlock is at least "inspired" by an autistic character. I find him very relatable in terms of intellect and social unawareness (and thinking I'm the only smart one sometimes).

What do you guys think? Do you find him relatable?
