Look at this interview, the interviewers are so daft its like an SNL skit. They are oblivious to the fact that every question they ask is like an insult or completely negative and glass is half empty, and ridiculous to boot. It's kind of funny though to see the look on his face as he's dealing with this...

Funny, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be though.

Best part: Star Trek fans are not stupid...

You’re right actually! Second time I watched this they actually seemed really friendly – this morning I was in a bad mood!!

I guess they just seemed kind of like oblivious bullies a bit to me. And what I meant by ‘glass is half empty’ attitude, is I guess that the questions were not exactly uplifting to him, like Bringing up the age (is that the best quote they could get from paramount), asking if being on star trek was bad for his career (ridiculous, since being on a hit TV show is like the lottery for most actors)… asking things like, is your fan base surprised to see you’re a real human? I guess a patronizing tone in general.

but its not intentional

They was asking dumb questions but its obvious they have no clue about star trek. I didnt really see anything too bad and trekkies expect this anyway.

They weren't so bad. It was actually sort of refreshing that they seemed to have little idea of the show, in the US Star Trek is so engrained into the culture that media people don't ask questions as if they know nothing about it and instead go imediately to joking about the stereotypes surrounding it.

On a side note, I've always respected Spiner's attitude towards Data as a part of his career and his refusal to reprise the role (quite frankly he is too old to).

Don't reckon they were that bad. Was an interesting interview -- enjoyed watching that, actually. Might of course be some kind of naive oblivion on my part.

I did like that he said "Trekkies aren't stupid." Well, of course not. Best conversations I ever have are with Trekkies. (And hate to say this -- but some of the most boring conversations I ever have are with non-Trekkies. Talking very broad averages here!!)

Always is fun to see people being interviewed especially when you know who the hell they are!

PS. When was this interview -- wondering if the movie he talks about is the most recent Star Trek XI.

Hi, It was added september 8, last year. For ST's 40th anniversary. I think they were still talking about the new movie though.
Thanks for your comments, I agree, although I've always seemed to be the lone trekkie wherever I am, no one I know ever seems to watch the show :(
It was a really fun interveiw and I liked seeing Brent Spiner too, I just thought they could have done so much more. I mean I wish I was there to ask the questions. Why would they ask him that tired old question about Klingons for instance, when it doesn't even have anything to do with him or his character?
Oh well
