Just saw the new Star Wars movie today

It was an okay movie, the lightsaber scenes were cool and the animation looked great! My only complaint is that C3PO was totally unneeded in this movie.

I give it 2 and a half Clone Trooper helmets.

By the looks of it it looks like it is trying to be a kids movie, is that true and is it okay for say a 7 year old.

As much of a Star Wars fan as I am, I'm pretty tired of the movies, and also wish they'd move on from The Clone Wars after almost seven years. With all the Force Unleashed tie-ins, I'm surprised they aren't making a series out of that.

The animation looks pretty stiff from what I've seen, and the action just doesn't really look exciting. The plot also doesn't seem distinctive to me - same stuff as Episode II/III.

An animated movie based on the Thrawn Trilogy might be a different story.

It has lots of shooting, and lots of shooting is always a good thing.

I'm going to see it this week sometime. A question for anyone who has seen it, is it a Separatist warship that hulls the Republic warships in one of the trailers (Grievous' flagship, Malevolence I think it is), rather than some type of artillery piece?

There just wasn't enough Star Destroyer killing via warships in RotS for my liking.

Saw it, and it was awesome [for this Star Wars fan].

Awesome points:
Yoda's prediction of Anakin, and what he fears (what Yoda and Anakin both fear), after his new Padawan's first "blooding"
shooting, lots and lots of shooting
Ventress got some well deserved screen time; she still can't see how much of a useless pawn she is (this can be said about everyone, but that's beside the point)
more shooting
It's good to see that the CIS Munificent-class frigates are able to hold their own against the larger Venator-class destroyers
Obi-Wan "playing" with Ventress in their duel
The vertical assault on the monastery at Teth was tactically sound considering the situation in the air (Ahsoka defending the walker was way cool)

Bad:
Malevolence and Grievous were nowhere to be seen (it's in the series, obviously)
not enough shooting in space between the big ships

Looking forward to the series.

All of the Star Wars films were always meant to be for kids. Funny thing is those kids grew up into adults.

I was also under the impression they were kids movies.

Episode III is graphic and violent; I'd say no given the "good guys" get killed (got teary eyed at the Order 66) and one of the main heroes goes evil, kills children and gets the s**t burned out of him above lava after having his arms and lege cut off, before then fighting and trying to kill his master that he regarded as a father, and choking the s**t out of his wife arguably to death

The Munificents have two big-ass turrets in front that can melt a 1,000 km ice moon or penetrate the shields of a "Grade III Battlestation" (whatever that is; not Golan III apparently; a class of defenses placed over Core Worlds)

That would be win-the Thrawn Trilogy. Better include The Dark Empire series too; World Devastators and (Reborn Empire) Imperial Fleet vs. New Republic (well Rebels again) Calamari Defense and reinforcing fleets. PEW PEW PEW!

I loved it! I can't wait until it comes out on DVD! They even put Emperor Palpatine in it, which is one of my favorite characters!

Saw it last weekend, a little too juvenile for my tastes, but I enjoyed the fact that it was STAR WARS.
