Hello to everyone. I feel really good about doing this........finally. I am a very proud mum of 3 absolutely gorgeous children. My 4yr old daughter was diagnosed as high functioning autistic about 3 months ago. My 6yr old son is being diagnosed with Asperger's tomorrow (I sound confident because it has been obvious since he was born - will explain later). My 21 month old son is next to be diagnosed with Asperger's. He appeared "normal" up until 6 months ago. My mother definitely has Asperger's ( only self diagnosed). I am 100% sure my partner has Asperger's too. Our children had no hope in hell of being "normal". My mum says i have always had ADHD which explains alot. I am a fire sign. I often find myself standing in the middle of it all, my family rotating around me. I am a fiery, feisty person (just like the sun) and my mother, partner and children are on their own planets rotating around me. It is war of the worlds in my house as you will soon discover!

I have never felt so frustrated in my life! My 6yr old went to see the paediatrician this morning. My son being as smart as he is knows when to play it cool. This was not the time. He almost passed for normal. I wanted to shout at him "Just be yourself. Don't try to give him the right answers. Give him your answers!" My son was distracted the whole time by a conveniently placed red truck with a helicopter on it which happened to sit directly behind the doctor. This gave the impression that he was actually looking at him and not passed him. My son is obsessed with vehicles and Transformers. Sometimes I think I have died and gone to transformer hell. He will get up 3 hours after going to bed to ask me what my favourite decepticons are and quiz me on what his are. Anyway the doc wasn't sure and made another appointment for 2 weeks time to go through everything in more detail. I had previously sent him a 'report' filled with all the information I had on my son since birth. He hadn't had the chance to read it - yet!. By this point i had steam coming out of my ears. He did however say that he definitely has OCD and Anxiety disorder whether or not it has anything to do with asperger's he wasn't sure yet. Needed to gather more evidence. Will find out in 2 weeks. I want to know now!! As you can tell I am not a very patient person. Too tired to have any patience. It is important that my son is diagnosed for our family's sake. He then has a legitimate excuse for the way he is. Kids always ask "Why is he doing that?" or "Why did he say that?" or "What's wrong with him?" Meanwhile he is completely oblivious to what other kids think of him unless they spell it out. He isn't good at reading body language or facial expressions unless they are exaggerated. His are always exaggerated. He reminds people of a cartoon character with his very expressive languge and facial expressions. I asked him the other day why he was being naughty and he replied "Because my brain tells me that that's my job!" How can i argue with that? He is always 10 steps ahead of us and often makes us feel completely stupid. From now on I will refer to my 6yr old son as 'A', my 4yr old daughter as'C' and my 1yr old son as 'R' unless i forget. My brain is in a permanent fog. C is due home from school any moment - then the fun and games begin. She is becoming increasingly violent and bites hard. Also I have a broken big toe just to make everything worse. I can't drive for 4 weeks! That'll teach me to kick things. Not the kids!!

Me: AS, self-diagnosed but 100% positive, as are the friends I've told.
Older Brother: Low-functioning Autism, severe intelectual disability, epilepsy, ADHD, General Anxiety Disorder, OCD, and (I'm not sure of the name on this one) Encoprensis? All diagnosed.
Twin brother: Moderate Autism, Moderate Intelectual Disability, Previously anorexic, very likely OCD.
Mother: Very likely severe anxiety. Inability to recognise emotions.
Father: NT. (Shocking, considering everyone else in the family.)
Uncle 1: Mild Intelectual Disability.
Uncle 2: Mild Intelectual Disability.
Uncle 3: Schizophrenia, very likely AS.
Uncle 4: NT
Uncle 5: Alchaholoc, otherwise unknown.
Aunt 1: NT
Aunt 2: Avoidance of eye contact, otherwise, appears normal.
Grandfather: Inability to read emotions.

Also: everyone who does not have a disorder tends to have an above-average IQ, and all have either above average, or intelectually disabling inteligence.

In short, neither me nor my brothers had a hope in hell of being normal either. O.o

Myself: Diagnosed AS.
My mom: Panic disorder-- among other types of crazies. That's why I love her. -laughs some.-
My brother: ADD
My sister: Social Anxiety
My two cousins: Diagnosed Autism
My uncle: Obvious, though undiagnosed AS.

Family gatherings are... fun.
