Hi all,
I'm a long time lurker of this board who has finally decided to join the community! Ever since I was young, I've had some quirks that made me stand out from other people. While my family always suspected that I have a mild case of Aspergers, they feared the stigma that would come with an official diagnosis and decided they'd intervene only if I really needed it. Due to the relative success I've had so far, my differences have never been much of an issue...until very recently. About a year ago, I was separated from the few close friends I managed to make (we graduated college and ended up in various situations), and have been feeling particularily out of sorts. Although I can pass for NT with my current peer group, they can still sense that something is amiss, and I have been unable to connect with most of them despite our common career interests. I was thrilled when I discovered this forum: I have been able to relate to many of the stories you've shared, right down to the tiny nuances! I am so happy to have found this place and look forward to sharing my own experiences with you all in the near future.
(By the way, does anyone else have Biology/Biomedical Sciences as their special interest?)
