Well, my name is James. A few years ago, I was diagnosed with Asperger's. I wish I knew of this condition when I was younger, since I always knew I was an "odd ball".
I started in computers back in 1984. It was an old Atari 800XL with a 1010 and a 1050. I learned how to rip apart computer programs along with doing my own bit of BASIC. In 1997, I joined the Navy as a "Radioman". I enjoyed it and had fun while I was in visiting new countries, trying new foods and drinks, and checking out the technology. I was always wondering why they offered me a re-up bonus, but I couldn't figure out why. Turned out the E6 spotted my condition, but didn't tell me. I guess he knew there was something special about me.
Then, in 2005, someone mentioned that I could be Asperger's. I was like "Ya, right..", but did some research anyway. It turns out that Asperger's runs rather deep in my family, dating back to my G-G-Grandparents (or further). Now, I am married and have 2 sons and a daughter that have it, and they all have rather high IQ's.. which can be scary. Our home network is rather.. overkill.. for a reason.
So.. That's me. If you seen my avatar on other forums, that's probably me too. I'm mostly on technical forums.
