Recently, I came across aspergers. After extensive research I concluded that it aptly describes me. I sought after a diagnosis, but to my surprise, I had already been diagnosed when I was a small child. My family had hidden it from me, for they could not bear the thought of aspergers and dismissed it as plain shyness. They now understand the condition and everything is alright. People should not dismiss something they do not truly understand.

I am sorry this sounds robotic. Because of my lack of social interaction, I tend to talk and write as if I am constructing an essay. Oh, and hello.

Welcome to Wrong Planet, Gadersd!

What a fantastic story you described. I am glad that your family has come around to accepting your autism.

Same with me. I found out that i'm Autistic 2 years ago. I was in a mainstream school the whole elementary school and the first half of high school and then went into special ed school for the second half of high school. I found out that i'm Autistic in special ed school.
