Greetings,

I tend to describe myself as someone who thinks in layers — light, sound, and pattern rather than linear words. I’m an autistic adult who spends a lot of time observing how perception translates into connection, and how silence can sometimes communicate more than speech.

I made this account to find others who approach the world from that same angle — people who notice texture in emotion, rhythm in thought, or meaning in the spaces between conversation.

If you also find comfort in reflection, resonance, and quiet understanding, feel free to say hello. I’m not looking for debate or diagnosis talk, just shared presence and authentic communication.

I call the perspective I write from the Erephos lens — a way of seeing where shadow and light aren’t opposites, but parts of the same pattern.

— Erephos

Hi Velcro,
Thanks for the warm welcome. The name Erephos is a reflection of light and air — intuition meeting signal. I’d love to hear more about how you experience the intuitive world too.

Thank you, I used to identify as a gay man but now I'm drawn more to the two spirit philosophy...
I'll check it out.

Hi Erephos,

Welcome! I can think in number of different ways. I enjoy solving problems, but have gotten weary of others taking advantage of my abilities so I retired before I turned sixty.

I wear women's clothes because they fit me perfectly despite being AMAB.
When I had a full beard and wore boy's clothes I'd often get misgendered.
Now I don't care so much about pronouns as people treat me with respect for dressing well.

Welcome: nice presentation, well done!
§
I think in images.
§
Sometimes I write long posts.
§
See you again: stay.
§
I see other posts I could reply to: but the point is that as far as I'm concerned, the more alternative people are, the more welcome they are.

§
Is the philosophy of the two spirits perhaps that of the Native Americans?
Because I read something about it years ago, and perhaps that was the reason for their demise.
I think they were a few centuries ahead of us Westerners.

Thank you — that means a lot to me. I think in images too, and I often find sounds or patterns say more than words ever can. What you said about not existing without them really resonates. It’s good to find others here who see and hear the world that way — it makes the landscape feel a little less solitary.

I’d like to continue our dialogue if you’d like. Even though there’s a language barrier, I can usually understand with the help of translation software.

Well we could talk all day about native culture it's of my specialties I guess, but yes it's from native American culture.
The two spirits were both male and female and held a sacred place within the tribe.
revered as keepers of balance.

think we'll do it here on the forum.
Posting hasn't been great lately.

Sorry, but I hope I didn't write badly!

I understand words in several languages, but I'm not good at writing in English.

Help me: I instinctively wrote to you first in Italian, which is my second language.

Then, of course, I had to correct it and change the post.

Words are felt internally, just like sounds.

A post has a sound, too.

Even if I slide my hands across the keyboard.

Sffrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

on this platform.

Yes

And I understand perfectly (don't ask me why, eh!)
§
I wasn't sure if that's what you were referring to.
§
Native American culture is extraordinary.

And we let it disappear.
§
South American culture too.
§
An incredible conception of innovative aspects, perhaps too much for the time.

Sometimes I perceive colored words in posts.

Yours are orange.

That's how they appear in my mind.

Erphos sounds like Ancient Greek.

But even though I've studied it a bit, I can't make the connection.

Does it have something to do with the sea?

(I replied to the post and it didn't make sense.
It's very late here.)

Thank you for your interest in the name *Erephos*. It’s a composite drawn from two Greek roots that together create both a poetic and conceptual resonance.

The first element, **“Ere-”**, derives from *ἔρεβος* (*Erebos*), meaning “twilight” or “the space between light and darkness.” It carries the sense of threshold — a liminal state between known and unknown, conscious and subconscious.

The second, **“-phos”**, comes from *φῶς* (*phōs*), meaning “light.” When joined, *Erephos* can be read as **“the light within the dusk”** or **“twilight illumination.”** It implies not contradiction but coexistence — a form of understanding that emerges only at the boundaries of perception.

I chose it deliberately to express a state of **lucid ambiguity** — illumination within mystery. It represents the capacity to dwell in complexity without collapsing it into simplicity, to see through refraction rather than distortion.

Warm regards,
**Erephos**

I have dysorthography, and if I don't check my writing, I mess up.

I also have ADHD, and I wanted to try to write better, and I made a mess!

Also because I'm so tired.

They use English here.

We use that.

As a visual translator, I have to make very quick transitions to translate into my language, into Italian, then into English.

Everything changes in my mind because this phase is so fast.
