Hey NegativeNancyboy, welcome to the forums.
I'm going to welcome you because you was pretty interesting in the WP irc chat.
So yea, can I ask, how did you found out about this site?

Good to see you made it back to the forums.
Chat was a little overwhelming, with all those people idling, and not knowing really what is going on, or anything about anybody

I read another general/nerdy message board where someone posted about having Aspergers. For some reason his post just really hit home.
So then I google searched that site for "Asperger" and found another post about it. In the 2nd post, someone mentioned this website, so I came right here!
It turns out I think I had looked at this one before. I wasn't taking the Asperger thing as seriously, though, at that time.
But now --the more I read, the more I keep thinking "maybe that explains this thing that happened...." or "maybe that explains why I act this way..." or whatever.
Things that make you go hmmm.
It's funny, though, because I find it hard to integrate with general internet culture sometimes, and now I have to integrate with other people who may have a hard time integrating. ! !

I will get interested in something and have laser focus on it....for like 2 months....then I get bored or distracted for a while, until the next thing catches my eye. Usually I spend all my energy all day thinking about the current "hobby" and feel like it will last forever. Normal/Aspergers/Something else?
Perfectly normal for us Aspies.
I need to really really try to get over the sporadic interests. I started writing a book about 2 months ago and wrote a complete first draft (80,000 words) in about 3 weeks. Then I slowed down with it and now I have not touched it for 2 weeks. I feel I have lost interest but want to get back on it.
Wow!! That sounds like a lot of writing. Are you happy with the work?
It will always be there for you to come back to. My sporadic interests usually cycle, so eventually I come to the same things again
How much more work do you think it will take to 'finish' ?
Well most of the first draft is rubbish. I have the plot and characters defined but need to do lots of rewriting. I figure it would probably take me the rest of the summer if I go at it. But knowing me it will still be in an unfinished state this time next year. And perhaps by then I will be heavily into something else. But I want to focus on the book. If I get it right it could be my 'get out of corporate life' card.
