Seems to be mostly for carers and parents, and I don't really like group meetings anyway.

Yes the formal group is, but I know of Aspies who live down on the coast but have come to our informal Brisbane group. Unless I am getting confused.

Hi, I'm from the Sydney area (near the Blue Mountains) and would be interested in meeting people on the spectrum. I don't really know whether it'd be a good idea, considering that most of us are not very good at socialising - myself included. But it would great idea to try out.

I've found I socialize better with other aspies than with the general public (most of the time).

Anyway, after months of planning and waiting, I'm finally in Sydney. If anyone wants to get together for dinner then send me an email. I'll probably check in at an internet cafe once a day.

I'd check my mail more often but the cafes down here haven't caught onto the marketing virtues of free WiFi yet and most of the pay WiFi systems don't seem to work with my iPAQ (they are probably geared to laptops that run proprietary connection tools).

When I read your sig I thought "cool, another Serenity fan. Then I went back to my hotel and Firefly was on TV. I didn't realize Fox was running it down here after so famously yanking it off the air in the USA. I wish they'd make more episodes, but it doesn't look like that will happen because Fox owns the rights and Joss has said he'll never work with Fox again because of what they did to Firefly.

Oh well. I'm only in Sydney for one more day. I fly to Alice Springs on Thursday. I'll be back in Sydney on June 2nd.

If there are any WP people in Alice Springs or Cairns I'll have a free day in each location.

I live on the Sunshine Coast just north of Brisbane and would like to get to know some other Aspies.
So count me in for Brisbane, or come up and use my house as a base for a day's activities. I live a couple of minutes walk from the beach.

If anyone wants to reach me while I'm on the road, send an email to jetson_wp@cpr.homelinux.net and I'll check my messages whenever I'm near an internet cafe.

(That's a "throw-away" address and will be killed as soon as I get home.)

Have I skipped over too much or is there nobody in Victoria willing to raise their hands? That can't be right!

Grr... I wouldn't mind having some sort of regular Victorian WP.net meet up in a cafe or something. I'm willing to err... build if people will come..

(Yes there are support groups out there, to be honest, I'm not really the target audience, if you get what I mean)

Pity theres still a few years before I get to 18. Goddamn I hate this thing called "age".

I live in Bendigo and would be interested in meeting you and other Victorian members. In a couple of weeks I will have a car of my own on the road which will make travelling easier :D

If any Victorians are interested in a meet up please email me on tristanjones54@hotmail.com

I'm afraid you actually are the first person to mention Victoria. I'd be more than willing to be a part of any meetup, whether it be in Melbourne or any other major population centre. Come to think of it...any excuse for a train trip to Bendigo. Long time since my last pint at the Shamrock...way too long.
