I doubt you are in the military at this age, so there should be no problems with that.
If you are, or have ever been, obsessed with why you are different, I think it's very important to get a diagnosis. For me, I was misdiagnosed by so many different professionals. I also had an abusive childhood, so my diagnosis gave me even more validation. In my personal life, I can now pin-point what's wrong and attempt a solution. People would laugh at me because I was so obsessive about finding what my mental illnesses actually were. I felt so different from everyone. The moment I received my diagnosis, it all stopped. I feel like I can be myself now, although I will still have to act in certain situations.
I had treatment for all sorts of problems before I was diagnosed, and they never worked. Sometimes, treatment will fail if they don't take into consideration your autism. It might be especially helpful to find out why you have all of that anxiety. If you don't treat (or at least understand) the core reason, treatment might not be the most effective.
