Wow, this is a more interesting thread that I thought it would be.
Comics were one of my main interests until my mid to late 20s, then I swapped that for an interest in pulp magaiznes. So I was interested to hear that Ghosthunter used to deal in pulps. The Shadow is one of my favorite characters, I love the novels by Walter B. Gibson.
When I was younger I liked DC better than Marvel. I bought a few Marvels, X-men in particular, before they started to publish what seemed like 40 or 50 X-men titles a month. But in general it was Batman, Justice League, and any golden age reprints I could find.
But I found alternative comics when I was in high school, so I read a lot of Eclipse, First, Dark Horse, and other smaller publishing companies.
I also found British comics about this time. I still have a few hundred issues of 2000 AD with great series like Nemisis, Harry 20, Ace Trucking Co., Slaine, Judge Dread, and the early work of Alan Moore. I also have all but one issue of Warrior magazine. Good stuff there.
Oh, I also like a lot of manga. Depends on the title. Since I'm now focused on Anime, I buy much more manga than American or British comics, and not too much of that.
I don't understand most of the comics that are being put out now. I guess I've just been gone too long. I still like the old stuff though.
