I think Surrey is excellent. Where is it? (I've never been there. It just seems interesting).

Thanks MG . It’s in south-east England. I’m about 40mins out of London. When I first landed in the country, I could have chosen to live anywhere, be it Scotland, Wales, etc, but I just happened to be initially staying in a motel in Surrey, loved it in the area so much, decided to stay. I remember walking along the cliffs of North Wales when I was there, in Anglesey. I will explore it more eventually. Surrey was truly like landing on another planet, compared to Aus! But in a good way! Recently I stayed in the Yorkshire Dales for a week, and explored York as well. Love the countryside here! Tell me about Wales - do you enjoy life there?

Welcome back to Wrong Planet!

Always lived in Wales and I have rarely been out of Wales. So much to explore here that I don't need to go anywhere else. I have been abroad two or three ties to Caldey Island. Other then that, I have stayed in mainland Wales.
I love Wales. I seem to almost hit some sort of invisible line when I venture outside of Wales where I am "On edge". As soon as I return back into Wales I feel safe again as long as I keep to the rural areas. Strange eh?

Wales is my home. I have a mountain named after me, but I can't say as I would reveal who I am.

Wow! That’s so special that you have a mountain named after you! Nothing strange at all about feeling on edge when you move out of your comfort zone. I understand that it’s very much a part of the essence of being on the spectrum... ie being “referenced” to settings, people, places etc. Our sense of self can disintegrate, in the worst case scenario of changes to these, if we haven’t taken the leap from one mountain to the other, pushing beyond the known boundaries. I love rural areas best, and your love for Wales is totally understandable. I was homesick for 10 years off and on when I moved here, but have really pushed myself travel wise. Now, I travel a lot! Learning so much. Would love you to perhaps post some photos of Wales on a board somewhere here in the future, and I’d be happy to share some of Surrey. Love photography!

This was the rain a few weeks ago at a local beach where there used to be a village which was washed away by the tsunami of 1607 and storms after that.

MG - so beautiful! Thank you so much! This is the woodland directly across the road from my home. The Germans apparently offloaded a bomb or two here during the war, on their way back home...

Your pictures don't seem to work for me.

I have once been to Portsmouth and I saw hovercraft. My Dad was alive and he was there. A big hovercraft came in and stopped. My Mum asked "How do they stop without sliding off the beach?" I jokingly said "They put thw handbrake on". My Dad was trying to keep a straight face as my Mum just said "Ok" as she assumed I was being serious.

Sorry - I’ll try to sort this out for you(may have to wait till tomorrow at this rate ).
Those hovercrafts are so cool! That was a funny story. Sorry about you losing your Dad. I lost my mother when I had just turned 4. On a happier note, love your photography! Thanks again, and hopefully, I’ll get mine up for you soon.

Going back to the place where it rained...





An old WW2 building I took shelter in when the heavy rain came... It had a big gun with a very long range which could sink ships right on the seas horizon. They chose this place as it is one of the only places in the UK which we can draw a straight line to the USA without any islands or Ireland being in the way.



This is Pendine beach which is one of our local beaches. The land speed records were done on this beach. The distant hill that looks grey in the photograph is where I live. I went to this beach and had a coastal walk via a very long coastal footpath (We only walked about a mile) on my birthday as I don't like partys, and my brother and his wife wanted to do something special by taking me somewhere instead. Due to the potential for wet weather the beach and shops below were nearly empty, and I had a meal in a little restauraunt by the beach. If it was buzy I would not have wanted to go in, as it is a small restauraunt. It has great sea and beach views though. My Mum stayed on the beach while we climbed the coastal path and walked to another bay area about a mile away. It was the best birthday I can remember!
