So here I am, finally replying to your message to me! Iron Age archaeology sounds fantastic to me. If I were an archaeologist, I might study Viking Age Scandinavia. In your studies of Celtic cultures, have you gotten into Druidism at all? I find it pretty interesting. Do you study mostly toolmaking and architecture and stuff like that, or do you get into the cultural stuff as well, such as religion?
I did look up the aye aye to see if what I remembered about them was correct. Superstition is to kill them on sight, apparently, because people fear them. Poor little guys.
Good luck in getting an RA- ship!

Wonderful to meet all of you! Thanks so much!
Krista - I'm interested in late European archaeology - the Iron Age or the Age of the "Celts" (though we try to avoid that trap), although I also have interests in other aspects of archaeology and human evolution.
I'm a TA, been one for three years, but have never had an RAship yet, unfortunately. I've mostly taught lab for our Human Evolution class, and done grading/mentoring for other introductory archaeology courses.
I recall hearing something about aye-aye's being perceived as evil creatures... but I don't know too many specifics about that, unfortunately. I'll have to look that up (yay... new fixation!)
