I have a new obsession: The movie Avatar. I love it! I'm trying to memorize Pandora in my head.

I'm also obsessed with designing dresses, Seattle, San Fransisco, Australia, marine biology, and certain facets of religion, like rebirth and the Messiah.

Awesome. Good for you! I'm glad someone here is using his Aspie superpowers for good and not evil!

Hello and welcome Shikari_Otome :)

It is also my stepson's obsession, I can ask him anything about japanese anime, including Sailor Moon, he knows everything. He also has a few other ones, but this one has been with him for a long time, I think since Pokemon (he liked Pokemon a lot when he was younger, collected all the cards, etc). He also took japanese language lessons in college. Even the music and bands he likes is often the ones who play in japanese animes/movies/videos.

hello there.

when i was a kid it was drawing and squirrels, then later the beatles, WWII, antarctica, various rock and metal bands (and music related trivia in general), moving on to films and languages/language in general. more recently i have had a series of less satisfying shorter-lived and more specific obsessions, and i wish i could get really deep into things again the way i could when i was younger. i just feel less focused - i think the internet, in spite of it being a fount of information about anything and everything, is actually a hindrance when it comes to acquiring deep knowledge. or perhaps my current obsession IS the internet... if it is, i would really like to know how to get rid of that one...

thoughts?

Right now, mental disorders and aspergers, which sucks because the subject always makes me depressed.... My first big obsession was reading, especially fairytales. This was in the old days, when we didn't have fantasy or science fiction 8O Some other ones have been classical guitar (still my main one), philosophy, astronomy and telescopes, serial killers, computers and viking history. All pretty broad subjects, none of that vacuum cleaner/serial number stuff.

Oh yeah, and welcome.

Pretty sneaky way to get a lot of replies. Ask these people about their obsessions...

This is the longest welcome page I've seen. :)

Welcome to WP!

My obsession...mostly spiritual pursuits. However, I am currently a ninja. It's only been three weeks, but it feels pretty true. :P

ooohh, I forgot to mention that I am obsessed with Legos. I love them. I especially like making scale models of buildings with them -- not the ones you find in kits -- but ones I make on my own. It is very fund and cathartic.

That's what happens when you ask what a Aspie is in to + it being a welcome page = about 2-3 pages more I'm predicting.

(It could go haywire and become a welcome sticky obsession thread, but i doubt it.)

This is my first post. I haven't been diagnosed with Asperger's, but I find most of the criteria describes me well. I have a number of obsessions: the movie Forrest Gump, The Legend of Zelda, foreign languages (French and Latin), and music trivia. Ironically, my biggest obsession is neuroscience, as it regards to physical attraction in humans--why people are attracted to who they are attracted to. I'm quite interested in anything that involves human social behavior because it is such a mystery to me. I also can go crazy if I can't blog everyday, so that is another obsession.
