I'm not good in writing about myself, so this will be a very short text.

My name is Melanie, I'm 18 years old and I come from south Germany.
I was diagnosed with Aspergers 1 1/2 years ago. (I also took an IQ-test with a good result.) Before that my life was just crazy.
My parents knew that I was different, but they didn't knew why.

I was in a normal public and private school, but it was horrible. I decided that I'll never go to school anymore in 2006. Since 2008 I'm learning at a distance learning school. (They've also some more students with Autism.)

I love medicine, especially youth psychiatry and oncology.
I also love to play with my handicapped dog and I adore reading.

I'm able to speak German, English and a little bit Danish. (And some easy sentences in Spanish.)

:)

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

I have been teased when I was in high school A LOT myself. But once I got to college it completely stopped. So I don't think it is a wise decision to never go back to school. If you are able to get a deploma through the long distance program you are at, perhaps you could use that deploma and then go to college. I promise there won't be any teasing/bullying in college.

By the way, I am surprised you said you are only 18 and you stopped going to school 3 years ago. Were you ahead in your classes and graduated early, or were did you simply drop out? Does the long distance program you are in have a diploma that is equivalent to high school one?

Welcome Melanie!

Nice you still have interest in science, even after your bad experiences with school.

Reading is good, any particular categories?

Have fun here and I hope you find some answers here that you seek.

The distance learning school is the same as a normal school. The same finals and the same work. So I'll be able to make the German Abitur and go study. I know that It'll be better on university. Everyone said that to me, including my Doc.

Three years ago I dropped school. I didn't knew the right word. (It's a little bit exciting for me, I've problems with making mistakes and I know that I make mistakes in a foreign language. :( )

I really love reading, I loved it since first class. Most I read books about medicine. Than I've many books about dogs and Autism.
I don't like reading fiction, I'm more into real story's.
