So, it appears by self diagnosis, at least so far... that I'm a person with mild Aspergers (Little professor Syndrome), and although I have have become highly socialized (by self tutoring) and observation, social naivety can still manifest episodically, mostly when I'm under emotional stress.
Sometimes, when I'm tired or stressed, I'll forget to wear my normal mask, so I'll go markedly extroverted, my voice quality will shift to more of a teenagers register, my normal level of sagacity or social savvy will drop away, I'll be overly revealing of my personal life (like at work or school) as if I'm amongst close relatives (To Much Information), oblivious to the social environment or social role I'm engaged in, I'll forget that I'm NOT surrounded by best friends.
My friends have a nickname for me: Inside Out.
They used to call me The little Professor, as a child.
Or as mom used to say: "Yer' so smart cher' stupit"!
It's not obvious to me when it's happening... I'll totally screen out the eye rolling, smirking, or other body language rejection Q's from others, (behavioral Q's that are preconcious for most people, things that most people "just know") by presuming I'm just being socially paranoid about it.
Note: This is especially poisonous for an Aspie dealing with nebulous social Q's within the Seattle freeze cliquish passive-aggressive, or dot-com social environment, hehe.
So, when I'm not vigilant, I'll just come off occasionally as a just a bid odd, or socially inept, and uncool. Only by reviewing the days events, usually before sleep, will I realize when I was /being a dork/.
While this is not good times, and attracted a lot of bullying in childhood, failed relationships, failed careers, etc. It's usually accompanied by a general predeliction for skepticism, a disdain for conventional thinking, high problem solving skills/creativity, and very high IQ scores, so its not all bad, except perhaps when I laugh at funerals...
Interestingly, the consumption of a popular controlled substance, just a bit, makes me socially keen, its like an invisible social force field becomes visible, but sadly I cannot partake of this fine substance...
And In fact, I may be overly revealing by telling you this, haha
