I wondered most of my life if I am autistic
or asperger.

Does it cost alot to find out?

Would it help me in any way if I did?

Somethings about myself.

The only thing I know about is electronics,
and learning languages.
I stink at everything else.

I love "weird" foods, that is foods
that the typical us citizen (I live in the
US, was born here, but I don't fit in with
how "US citizens should be") might not
like, such as squid, octopus, indian food,
and other Asian style foods not usualy
found on the menu.

I love cats, they are sacred to me and
I would die for my cat to protect him.

I alot of the time I forget to be growed up
and I pretend alot like I like to pretend Im
a cat or do pretending with my brother that
we are someone else like we act on camera
taking on characters that we made up.

Hi! Welcome to WrongPlanet.

I am sure someone will be by to link you to the Asperger's Quiz. It can give you a sort of yardstick approach to finding out if you might have Aspie tendencies.

Yes, if you have a job it cost a lot of money. If you don't or haven't, then it can cost you an awful lot of time and frustration.

At our age, probably not, unless you are requiring monetary assistance in living. In two years or so you should see the first check. In my case, the evidence was so overwhelming that a self-diagnosis was impossible to argue. I finally got tired of fighting my doubt, got a professional diagnosis, and it was only a confirmation of what I already knew. The therapy is insightful but overwhelming at times. Every aspie is different in the same ways, I wish I would have saved my money, but at the time I needed to know for certain. I had no idea I would still be in therapy two years later. The self-diagnosis research proved considerations I had avoided for years. There are many resources available these days online.

Growing up is a lot easier than being grown up.
