Well Im New Ive always wondered why Im different from my brother and mom and well I now know I have aspergers and Im Not alone I found this website and I hope to make friends and well I may not be Normal where I live but I am Normal here

Hi there welcome to WP. I, like yourself, used to wonder why I was different from my other family members and found out a few months ago that I my parents were told I had AS when I was a child but were reluctant to tell me until this year. Now I know who I am I'm a lot happier and actually feel normal as, for me, AS isn't abnormal, just a part of me that I'm quite happy to embrace and deal with. Nor do I really label myself with it as it doesnt define me. I'm different from others, so what? If we were all 'normal' or the same I think that this world would be a very rigid, boring place. I hope you succeed in making friends here.

I'm just amazed that there is a whole LAND of people who are weird. I mean, i knew i was weird. But to find a whole new land(site, place of meeting, the forums) where everyone is about equally weird in their own ways is so comforting and refreshing.

I knew that I was different, all through my Childhood. I couldn't figure out why. I wasn't like most kids. I was more like a Little Adult. I'd also thought that I was put into Special Ed in Elementary School as a Punnishment for all of the mistakes that I've made, before I started Kindergarten, and that I was Mentally Challenged. My Mom told me about my condition, when I was fifteen. I've felt sorry for myself, for a couple of weeks. After those two weeks, I've quit with the Pity Parties and I've made the choice to interact with my Peers, more. I've even joined a Limbo Dance contest, and I was the 18th best Limbo Dancer out of 150 Ninth Graders. I was also communicating more, with the Students in my Regular Classes, as well.

I was constantly told growing up, by parents and by my peer group, that I wasn't normal. It was hurtful. I came to strongly dislike this whole concept of whether were normal or not normal or whatever.

I came to realise none of us are any less normal than anyone else. We're all unique and we know it. God loves us all regardless of whether we're Aspies or neurotypical.
