Phrases that you repeat

It seems a little embarrasing to admit I know, but do you verbally repeat a certain phrase or sentence?

This type of repetition based uttering best describes my habit, it happens when I'm alone in the house and it would often begin with me calling out the approach minimums and countdown of a airliner, "approaching decision height, 500, 300, 200, 10, 5, ret*d, ret*d," or the names of local train staitons heard from a ticket officer somewere.
I sounds kind of unusual I know but can anybody realate to this? Have you ever found yourself having a fondness for a particular sentence or word that you had heard from somewere, and end up verbally repeating the sentence? I do, I don't know why but I just enjoy the sound of particular words or phrases like the ones mentioned above. Sometimes it might relate to my interest sometimes it doesn't but it happens to me, thankfully I say it in isolation otherwise I would be getting a quick diagnosis of soemthing else

'Ratard' mentioned above in aviation is a french term that for an aviation term.

Happens to me all the time, even when I try to have a conversation with someone I end up saying phrases I heard before even if they don't relate to the subject at all. When i'm alone sometimes I start repeating things from the movie Sin City, I have memorized many of the dialogs and monologs on that one, i find them fascinating, I just love words.

"She shivers in the wind like the last leaf on a dying tree, I let her hear my footsteps, She'll only go stiff for a moment... Are you as bored by that crowd as I am? I didn't come here for the party, I came here for you..."

Whilst waiting for a ride as a kid or in any other impatient, time killing situation, I used to repeat "one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, all good children go to heaven", a la The Beatles "Abbey Road".

I have a prayer of gratitude which I repeat as sort of a mantra, giving thanks for strength, wisdom, health, happiness, safety, security, peace and prosperity.

.....and for awhile I was stuck on "Nelly Furtado."

I can sometimes "block" negative OCd thoughts about stupid things I've done by saying "I hate myself." I mouth it if I'm around people, but say it aloud if I'm alone. ((This sounds more maladaptive than it is; it relieves stress.))

I like to say "maladroit" at random times. I just love the sound of that word. I also find myself repeating "She's a ! Burn her! Burn her! She turned me into newt! A newt? I got better! Burn her anyways!"

"God, I'm an idiot." Also, "God I feel like such an idiot." These words would pop out of my mouth at all sorts of odd times, e.g. while in the supermarket, lying in bed, walking down the street. I have learned to stop myself from saying these awdful things to myself. I can recognize when the words are about to burst out of my mouth, and I've trained myself to say, "I love you, I love you" instead because I feel bad about calling myself an idiot.

I often repeat things I've heard earlier in the day - I ususally mouth them though, because I'm usually at school. One word I've ahd in my head for a while (it really bugged me actually - I could think of nothing else) is 'linalool' which is a chemical in a chemistry question. Fortunately I usually only have music going round my head, so if I say what I'm thinking it comes out at humming whichever piece - it looks less 'weird'

The two phrases that I say to myself , the most are, "I do not take longer to learn, I learn differently and not more slowly!" And, "I do not act like I'm Mentally Challenged!"
Other phrases are, "London is the answer to my Problems."

i repeat phrases that i read or hear for awhile and then stop.

I can relate to this Photon. If I hear a word or phrase or sentence that I feel drawn to for some reason, it repeats itself in my head like a broken record. For me, its usually something related to food (but then I do eat a lot sometimes!). I have to put loud music on or do something really distracting to reduce the repetitiveness in my head or get rid of it. I used to hate it when it happened to me in lectures (it doesnt happen to me that often but still, its annoying) as I found it distracted me from what the lecturer was saying and, as I was very studious, this used to piss me off.

When people ask how I am, I will often respond that I am "gallantly fighting". (With the hidden meaning of gallantly fighting, bravely against life's struggles.) A bit repetitive when I've said it several times to the same person though.

In my last job, there was a dialogue I often used to co-workers where I said "His/her name is (their name), he/she thinks he/she's (the name of some person I know, but they don't)". I said this whenever I picked up any sort of thing in common between the two people. Obviously it baffled them not knowing who or what I was talking about. I think they certainly found it weird, yet kind of endearing at the same time.

There are certain words, phrases and dialogues I repeat in private too, often without realising. For example, a new-found, increasing interest in archaic, literary English words has taught me a few new words that I like saying to myself. My favourite has to be "cynarctomachy". It's possibly better not to go into what it means, but it's a great sounding word.

Finally, certain conversations/dialogues I have had with people stick in my mind, I don't know why. I repeat them, not just verbally, but also acting out the body language that was used.
