-Coughs-

So, yeah, I kinda forgot to post one of these threads when I got here about a month ago, but whatever...I'm Jonny. I'd say it was nice to meet you but how do I know who's reading this, eh? ^.~ Heh. I'm 18, and I have asperger's, OCD, and sensory defensiveness all rolled up in one nice little package with a bow.

My general obsessions/interests are writing prose and poetry, movies, video games, philosophy, mythology, politics/supposedly-paranoid liberal conspiricy threories, looking at cool CG art (especially of the gothic variety), novels, online roleplaying (NOT the sexual kind...the kind where you make characters and complicated storylines, fight monsters, etc.), Instant Messaging, special effects, animation, graphic novels, vampires, succubi, theater/acting, ranting, Harry Potter, The Matrix, parody, Sims 2 downloads, and flash animations/games.

Various issues of angst brought on by asperger's include oversensitivity to noise/music, lights, smells, tastes (super super picky eater here...), etc.; obsessive crushes/girl troblems (they're worse than problems and troubles put together so I call them troblems); an extremely cynical (but still hopeful) outlook on life (brought on by the way people ALWAYS disappoint me whenever I trust them with anything, combined with a general hatred for existence because my senses are always overwhelmed and because people always act in ways I don't understand even when I try); difficulty making friends (seems like whenever I try being friends with someone, then they don't call, even when they seem to enjoy my company--usually because they're busy. I'm very picky about who I'm friends with, and usually only enjoy being around intelligent people--the sort that's usually busy juggling school and work and homework all at once); etc. Blargh.

Uh...all right, that's enough for now. Heh.

Jonny,

You sound very, very, very much like me; not only in the interests, but in the way you view the world. I've also become very cynical in the way I view the world; people constantly seem to dissapoint me. Hence, the general disdain for the majority of my generation, which makes it even harder to meet people because I can't trust that they'll be trustworthy. However, you also said that there's an element of hope there, which I also share.

Just wanted to mention that it's good to know somebody in the same boat as me.

GET IN THERE WITH THE THREAD MY SON!

oversensitivity with lights etc.: like a cringe-like feeling when amongst bright light? I get it quite bad in the morning but i presume that is normal...
