Hi peeps.

Not spoken since April (where does the time go?) so thought Id say hello.

Im 30, from Scotland, and have been diagnosed since May 2005. Never truly got to grips with the diagnosis, and doors of opportunity via support services have been disappointing.

What has changed since?

hmm....in no particular order:

1. My dog died
2. Ive been told I could be redundant by Xmas
3. My grandfather died
4. My parents divorced
5. My father has incurable cancer

What hasnt changed since then?

1. I still have virtually no friends, thus no meaningful social contact with the outside world.
2. Im still overweight
3. Im still miserable and depressed
4. I still live at home

Anyone wanna talk, feel free to get in touch. If anyone else here is from Scotland, gis a shout. I can hear ya.

Take care,

Lee (Macgumerait)

About support services I don't know much, but there used to be an Aspie group in Fife (meeting at Enable's offices in Dysart), but unfortunately it suspended meets not long ago. You are quite near to Edinburgh, where there is quite a large Asperger society that meets frequently.

yep there is ELAS (Edinburgh and Lothians Aspergers Society) and Room 6.

ELAS run their sessions in early evenings which make it near impossible for me as i travel in my day job.

ROOM 6 only cater for those resident in the Edinburgh area.

Fife does have its own services, however, only cater for kids who are diagnosed at a young age - not people like me who are diagnosed later in life.

ELAS also runs social events on Saturdays once a month (usually the last Saturday), next one being on 29 October. If you (or anyone else) would like details on these socials, please PM me.
